Letters to Santa - Write to receive a letter back

SANTA is a busy man. He’s supervising the North Pole’s toy workshop, ensuring online orders don’t go astray and opening mail from the world’s children.

The Cumberland Courier Newspaper Group has offered to help by collecting Santa’s mail and writing back to the children who send him letters.

At this time of the year children are excited about Santa’s impending visit, hopefully with a sack full of toys, and to receive a letter back from the jolly man in red suit adds to their anticipation and joy.

Children under the age of 12 can write their letter, and even decorate it if they wish, to Santa. Cumberland Courier Newspaper Group papers will publish the best of the letters written to Santa before we send them on to the North Pole.

Children who write their letter and send it to arrive at our Parramatta Santa mail collection office before the close of business on December 10 will receive a letter back from Santa himself.

To receive a letter back from Santa send your Cumberland Courier Newspaper Group your child’s letter. Address the letter “Letters to Santa” and add the name of this paper. Without writing the name of your Cumberland Courier Newspaper Group paper your letter will not be able to be processed by Santa’s busy elves.

Send to: Letters to Santa, PO Box 662, Paramatta Business Centre, 2150. Remember to write the newspaper you read or your letter can’t be processed.
On the back of your envelope put your name, your child’s name and age, and a return mailing address with street number and name, suburb and postcode.

Send your mail to arrive at Parramatta by the close of business on December 10.

All personal information will be destroyed once the promotion is complete.

Letters to Santa is only open to NSW - Sydney and Central Coast - residents. Employees (and their immediate families) of the promoter, and its agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter the promotion.

1. The promotion starts opens Monday, November 22, 2010 at 9.01am AEST and closes to to submissions on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 4.59pm AEST. Submissions must be a letter and/or artwork from a child 12 years and under. The submission must be addressed to: Letters to Santa, [nominated Cumberland Courier Newspaper Group paper], PO Box 662, Paramatta Business Centre, 2150. The letter must have a return mailing address with parent or guardian’s name, child’s name and age, street number and name, suburb and postcode.

2. All mail will be collected at 142-154 Macquarie St, Parramatta, NSW, 2150, and redistributed to individual Cumberland Courier Newspaper Group mastheads for possible publication.

3. The promoter will destroy personal information once the promotion is complete.

4. All entrants must provide address details for the purpose of the promotion and accept that the name of their child, their age and the suburb in which they live will be made public knowledge along with their photo.

5. Cumberland Courier Newspaper Group takes no responsibility for lost or misdirected mail.

6. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible or liable for:
a. inaccurate / incorrect transcription of entry information;
b. purported entries that are not received for any reason, including because they are lost, misdirected or stolen, or that are received, but are late, illegible, incomplete, sent with insufficient postage (where entry is by post), or sent other than as directed in the entry instructions;
c. any problems or technical failures of any kind, including malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems or network, servers or providers, computer equipment, or software;
d. the unavailability or inaccessibility of any service whether or not caused by traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website;
e. unauthorised human intervention in any part of the competition;
f. electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the competition;
g. any loss suffered or sustained, to person or property and including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter, or its servants or agents, in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services by any person to a prize winner and, where applicable, to any family/persons accompanying a winner; or
h. any injury or damage to persons or property, including to the participant’s or any other person’s computer related to, or resulting from, participation or downloading any materials in this competition.

7. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries. The promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this competition.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON A WEBSITE, OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION, MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, WHETHER SUCCESSFUL OR NOT, THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
