This Sydney New Year's Eve, we're asking everyone to make their mark... and film it!

Enter our Sydney New Year's Eve video competition for your chance to win an exclusive prize package including a Sony High-Definition Digital Video Camera, 2Day FM music pack and 2 x VIP tickets to watch the 2010 NYE Fireworks in the heart of the Harbour action!

CriteriaVideo entries must show/tell/explain how you plan to Make Your Mark for the year 2011
Video entries must include/refer to the 2010 Sydney New Year's Eve in relation to the creative theme 'Make Your Mark'
Video entries must be no longer than 1 minute in duration
Participants must be over 18 years to enter
Video entries can be either by an individual or a group, however cannot be a corporation
Video entries must comply with the competition's Conditions of Entry to be eligible

Privacy Statement & Conditions of Entry



1.Information of how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry for the City of Sydney’s 2010 Sydney New Year’s Eve Video Competition (the "Video Competition"). Submission of a video in this Video Competition is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry. 
2.The promoter of this Video Competition is the Council of the City of Sydney (the "City") (ABN 22 636 550 790), 456 Kent Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
3.Entry to the Video Competition is open to any individual. Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter. Employees and their immediate families of City of Sydney are ineligible to enter. An entrant must be a person and not a company or an organisation.
4.The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process, submitting an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry or is engaged in any unlawful or other improper conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Video Competition or the Promoter’s interests.
5.Entry into the Video Competition is free and entrants may enter multiple video entries in the Video Competition.
6.To enter the Video Competition, each entrant must:
(i) Complete the Online Entry Form with all requested details including full name, contact phone number, email and suburb.
(ii) Attach and upload their video file. Incomplete entries will be deemed invalid and will be discarded. All Entry files must be no larger than 70MB in file size.
7.Only Entries that include/refer to the 2010 Sydney New Year’s Eve in relation to the creative theme ‘Make Your Mark’ will be accepted into the Video Competition.
8.The Video Competition opens at 9:00am EDST on Wednesday 1 December 2010 and closes at 5pm EDST on Monday 21 December 2010 ("Video Competition Period"). The Prize Winner will be announced on Tuesday 22 December 2010 and then notified by phone. The Prize Winner’s name will be published on the website www.sydneynewyearseve.com by 22/12/10. This Video Competition will be judged at the sole discretion of representatives of the Promoter and the judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
9.All entries must be original and the entrant’s own work.  By entering the Video Competition each entrant warrants that every video submitted by the entrant does not infringe the intellectual property rights of a third party and each entrant further warrants that they own all rights to the video entry submitted.   Entries that infringe copyright are automatically disqualified from the Video Competition.  Each entrant indemnifies the Promoter against any costs that the Promoter may incur as the result of any copyright infringement from the breach of these warranties.
10.The Prize Winner will win a Sony High-Definition Digital Video Camera HDR-CX350V, a 2Day FM music pack including 15 x albums and 2 x VIP tickets to the 2010 Sydney New Year’s Eve VIP Viewing Area at Dawes Point Reserve.
11.The Prize Winner will be notified of their prize by phone. A courier will be arranged by the Promoter to deliver the prize to the winner at their specified address.
12.Total Prize value is $3,124.95
13.All travel costs associated with the redemption of the prize(s) by the Prize Winner will be at the expense of the Prize Winner.  All prize(s) are to be redeemed in Sydney.
14.Prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. No responsibility accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
15.In the event that for any reason the prize winner does not claim the prize by 30/12/10, then the prize is forfeited.
16.All entries become the property of the Promoter. 
17.The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained as a result of participating in this promotion or by accepting or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
18.By entering the Video Competition each entrant grants to the Promoter, Events NSW, Tourism NSW and agencies of the NSW State Government, an irrevocable non exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, display, broadcast or otherwise use the videos in any form of media (print or web) for any promotional, marketing, publicity or research purposes of the Promoter, Events NSW, Tourism NSW and agencies of the NSW State Government or for any other purpose consistent with the Promoter's,  Events NSW 's, Tourism NSW 's and agencies of the NSW State Government’s functions, without payment to or attribution of the entrant.
19.By entering a video entry in the Video Competition which includes footage of people, each entrant warrants that such people have given their permission for their image to be included in the video and have agreed that the footage (including their image) may be used by the organisations named and for the purposes specified in Condition 18 of these Conditions of Entry.
20.By entering a Video Entry in the Video Competition, each entrant also agrees that any other sponsor, partner or supplier of 2010 Sydney New Year’s Eve may reproduce the video footage (including any images of people) for the purpose of reporting their involvement in the event in a publication such as an annual report or on their website and each entrant warrants that any people in the video have given their permission for their image to be reproduced for such purpose.
21.If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fraud, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
22.The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information or for any fault in the equipment utilised in this Video Competition which may result in error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
23.The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information in order to conduct the promotion and award the prize winner and to conduct post event research. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. The information will be used for adding to the subscription databases of the City’s e-newsletters including What’s On, Live Green and Cycling in the City.
24.Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to the relevant State lottery department and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter at their address set out below. The winner’s personal details may be released to public enquiries under section 12 of the Local Government Act 1993 or under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.
