METHOD OF ENTRY
Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 and over only. Employees of Special Broadcasting Services Corporation (“SBS”), Volkswagen Group Australia Pty Ltd (“VGA”) and their immediate families are ineligible. By entering the Competition, entrants will be deemed to agree with these terms of entry.
The SBS & SKODA TOUR DOWN UNDER COMPETITION (“the Competition”) commences on Wednesday, 5 January, 2011 at 10:00am AEDT and ends on Wednesday, 12 January, 2011 at 10:00am AEST (“the Promotion Period”).
To enter, participants must log onto
www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral and follow the directions on the website. Participants must register their details, including (but not limited to) name, address, postcode and phone number and answer in 25 words or less the following question:
“Why would you like to ride with Skoda Ambassador Phil Anderson at the Tour Down Under?”, and submit their entry by clicking on the “Enter Competition” button.
Online entries are limited to one entry per email address. All entries become and remain the property of SBS.
SBS reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of Australian residency status at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity, in order to claim a prize. Acceptance of proof of identification, Australian residency status and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the SBS. In the event that a winner cannot provide proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
Incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
PRIZES
Major Prize. The Major Prize winner will receive a trip for two to the 2011 Tour de France, including the following:
2 nights’ accommodation at the Hilton Adelaide Hotel (the official hotel of the Santos Tour Down Under) on the 20th and 22nd of January 2011;2 x return economy flights from the Major Prize winner’s nearest capital city; Behind the scenes tour of the official Tour Village on the 20th January 2011; Dinner with Phil Anderson, Jack Bobridge and Team Skoda; Ride with Phil Anderson and Team Skoda in the Mutual Community Challenge ride on the 20th January 2011; Celebratory dinner with Team Skoda on the 21st January 2011
The Major Prize is valued at AU$7,900. [/b]
Runner Up Prizes. The Runner Up will receive one (1) Legends of the Tour Highlights DVD; and one (1) Cadel Evans: Close to Flying books (“Runner Up Prize Pack”). There are seven (7) Runner Up Prize Packs to be given away in total. Each Runner Up Prize Pack is valued at up to AU$94.95 (RRP). Total Runner Up prizes valued at up to AU$664.65 (RRP). The total of the Major Prize and the Runner Up prizes are valued at up to AU$8564.65.
All valid entries will be considered by a selection panel, consisting of representatives from VGA (“the Selection Panel”). The Major Prize winner and the Runners Up will be selected by the Selection Panel on Wednesday, 12 January, 2011. The Major Prize will be awarded to the best valid entry as determined by the Selection Panel, based on literary and creative merit. The Runners Up Prizes will be awarded to the seven (7) next best valid entries. The prize winners will be notified by phone and email. The name of the prize winners will be published on the SBS website on Thursday, 13 January, 2011.
If a prize winner cannot be contacted and confirm acceptance of the prize by Thursday 13 January, 2011, SBS will award the prize to the next best valid entry as determined by the Selection Panel on Thursday 13 January, 2011. If applicable, the name of the next best entrantwill be published on the SBS website

The Major Prize is described in the promotion for the Competition and outlined in Clause 7. SBS reserves the right to exchange the Major Prize for an alternative prize of approximately equal value.
SBS accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred to enter the Competition or in connection with taking up the prizes.
Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
Once prizes have left the prize supplier’s premises, we take no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
Travel
Once booked and if approved by the prize supplier, any changes may incur a cancellation fee or amendment fee at the cost of the Major Prize winner. The Major Prizer winner (and their travel companion) will not accrue any frequent flyer points from taking the Major Prize.
Travel must be completed during Wednesday 19th January, 2011 and Sunday 23rd January, 2011. If travel has not been redeemed within this time period, tickets shall be deemed null and void. Bookings are subject to availability and are not re-routable. Once tickets have been issued they cannot be changed.
Neither SBS nor VGA or their associated companies will be held liable for any loss, damage or injury of the results directly or indirectly from the Major Prize winner taking part in any aspect of the Major Prize. Where relevant, the Major Prize winner agrees that they take full responsibility for any activities engaged in while travelling and engaging in the prize package and will take out appropriate travel insurance.
The Major Prize winner is responsible for all costs not expressly listed in Clause 7, including without limitation, meals, entertainment, other travel and accommodation, transfers, passports, visas, re-entry permits, spending money, freights, excess baggage, government taxes, departure taxes, ground transportation any tax liabilities, airport charges, any applicable surcharges and any other related costs. Travel insurance is not included in the prize and will be the responsibility of the winner. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
The Major Prize does not include spending money
Travel arrangements to and from the nearest capital city airport do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the Major Prize winner.
The Major Prize winner and their travelling companion must travel on the same flight as each other to their destination.
It is the responsibility of the Major Prize winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations before travel.
Neither SBS nor VGA or their associated companies are responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for acts of god, acts of terrorism or war (declared or undeclared) or other events beyond SBS and VGA control which prevent awarding of the prize in accordance with the Major prize description.
FINAL CONDITIONS
Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing
(exclusive of GST). SBS accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.
It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.
SBS accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred in entering the competition or taking up a prize.
SBS and VGA assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alterations of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including, but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the promoter reserves the rights in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. Subject to State Regulation.
This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each
entry will be individually judged, based upon literary and creative merit. All entries must be the original independent creation of the entrant and free of any claims that they infringe any third party rights.
The judges reserve the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which,
in the opinion of the judges, includes objectionable content, including but not
limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or
defamatory images or language. The judges' decision will be final and no
correspondence will be entered into.
All entries become and remain the property of SBS. SBS may use the entrants' names and addresses for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes.
30. All details of the entrants will be used and preserved in accordance with the National Privacy Principles. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to that office. Unless otherwise notified, SBS may use the entries and details of entrants for promotional and publicity purposes. Entrants consent to their full names and/or their entries being used in all media by SBS.
