The prize money is dynamic! The more entries we receive the more the first prize pool will grow.
In addition the winner will receive critical review of their screenplay by an accomplished Screen Writer. Critical and continual review is vital to screenplay development. Review by industry professional writers is an excellent opportunity to have your work critically examined & is a real chance for industry recognition. While there are no guarantees of a production, this competition endeavors to discover & promote new talent and is looking for production opportunities. This competition is ideal for emerging writers and new writers to hone their skills.

Conditions of entry
How long should it be?
The screen time for this should be no more that 20 minutes.
If you’re screen time is too long you will be knocked out of the running for not fitting the category of a short film.

How should I lay it out?
There are many screen writing applications available however its not compulsory to use an application. We do recommend however, that you present your script as if it were a professional submission and a genuine pitch for your screen play. Whilst attempt will be made to read all submissions, if the presentation is sloppy it may be disregarded. Don’t unnecessarily deter the judge/s from a good story by poor presentation. If you are unsure how to lay out your script, we recommend Screen Australia’s Suggested Script Layout.

Who has the copyright of your screenplay?
We do not claim ownership of your screen play once submitted. Should a production opportunity arise we will contact you or your agent.

Closing Date.
Scripts will be accepted up until 12 midnight (AEST) 1st Feb 2011. Winners announced on Valentines Day 2011. Give the judges time to revel in the creative genius of your script. Last minute entrants will need to sway the judges in a shorter space of time. In the event of insufficient entries the competition deadline may be extended.Participants will be notified.

Does it cost to enter?
Yes. Entry fees are via paypal. We do not accept any other forms of payment.
Standard entry fee: $10. valid to 31st December 2010
Fee increases to $35 from 1st January to 1st February 2011.
