Conditions of entry for the Woolworths Australian Good Taste/Oriental Merchant Competition

   1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.

   2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia aged 18 years or over who satisfy the entry requirements stated in clause 7.

   3. The Promoter is News Magazines. Employees of News Magazines, Woolworths Pty Ltd, Oriental Merchant Pty Ltd and their respective advertising agencies, newsagents, subagents and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

   4. Promotion commences 12:01am (AEDT) Monday 24th January 2011 and closes 11.59 pm (AEDT) on Tuesday 22nd February 2011 (promotional period). The winners will be drawn at 12:00pm (AEDT) Friday 25th February 2011 at Salmat Interactive Level 1, 116 Miller Street, North Sydney, NSW 2060. Winners will be notified by writing and or phone. The major prize winner will be published on www.goodtastepromotions.com.au/winners from Friday 4th March 2011.  Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

   5. There are 88 $50 WISH Gift Cards to be won. The first 88 valid entries drawn will each win a prize.

   6. The total prize pool is valued at $4,400.

   7. To enter, entrants must purchase at least one product from the following product ranges from a participating Woolworths or Safeway store Indomie, Lee Kum Kee, TCC, Obento, Valcom, or Yeo’s and enter either;
         1. By Phone call: 1900 966 576 (call costs a maximum of 55c including GST - higher charges from mobiles/payphones) during the promotional period and follow the prompts, key in the last 6 digits of the barcode of the purchased participating product, leave their name, address, daytime contact number; or
         2. By Mail: send their name, address and daytime contact number on the back of an envelope along with a copy of the receipt of the purchased participating product from participating store to: Woolworths Australian Good Taste/Oriental Merchant Competition, PO Box 542, Eastern Suburbs NSW 2004; or
         3. By SMS: send a text message to 19 719 744 (text message costs a maximum of 55c per message and each text message has a maximum of 160 characters) with their name, address, daytime contact number and the last 6 digits of the barcode of the participating product; or
         4. Online: Visit www.goodtastepromotions.com.au/orientalmerchant and follow the instructions to enter the last 6 digits of their barcode and their contact details.

   8. Call and SMS each cost a maximum of 55c including GST; costs may be higher from mobile/payphones. Entry by phone is available to those that have access to calling 19 Premium phone numbers, participants are recommended to contact their phone service provider for more information. Entry by SMS is only open to entrants with an SMS compatible mobile phone connected to a service provider which permits premium text messaging to the promotional SMS number.  It is recommended that entrants check with their individual service provider in this regard. For SMS help, entrants can call 1300 131 276.

   9. If a participating product is unavailable, then another participating product must be bought in order to be eligible to enter the competition. The Promoter is not responsible for any product that is unavailable.

  10. Entries without the required information as stated in clause 7 will be deemed incomplete and will not count towards an entry into the Promotion.

  11. One entry per eligible purchase (see clause 7). Multiple entries are accepted, each entry must be made in relation to a separate product purchase as per clause 7. Entries are limited to 2 entries per day per household.

  12. Any form of automated electronic entry that does not meet the entry requirements as per clause 7 will be deemed invalid and not counted as a valid entry.

  13. A maximum limit of one prize will be awarded to any entrant whose valid entry is drawn, (with the exception of residents of SA who are not subject to this limitation).

  14. Participants who enter via phone or SMS or online must retain their purchase receipt for the participating product as proof of purchase. Failure to produce any purchase receipt when requested may in the absolute discretion of the Promoter, result in invalidation of ALL of a participant’s entries and forfeits any right to a prize.  The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries.

  15. All entry times are considered as the time the entry is received by Salmat Interactive.

  16. This is a computerised electronic random draw. Drawn entries will be checked for validity against competition rules of entry as they are drawn. Any entries deemed not valid (as per clause 7) will be discarded and the draw will continue until all prizes are allocated.

  17. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prizes. All prize values are in Australian dollars.

  18. Prizes are not transferable.

  19. Winners must take the prize as offered.

  20. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value if the prize is for some reason unavailable subject to gaming authority approval.

  23. Individuals and or households who have won a prize from the Woolworths Australian Good Taste Magazine a publication of the promoter News Magazines PTY LTD between the 29th December 2010 and 23rd January 2011 may be ineligible to win a prize. (Excluding SA residents)

  24. If a prize is unclaimed, a second draw will be held at 12:00pm (AEDT) on Wednesday 1st June 2011 at the office of Salmat Interactive Level 1 116 Miller Street North Sydney subject to any written directions given by the relevant state lottery and gaming regulators and names of winners of the second draw will be published in the public notices section of The Australian on Friday 10th June 2011.

  25. We are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by you or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of the competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

  26. We are not responsible for lost, late, incomprehensible or incorrect entries in the competition. We also accept no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from prize winnings in the competition.  You should seek Independent financial advice about such matters.

  27. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, disaster or (without limitation) any other event outside our reasonable control, we are entitled to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition - subject to any written directions from the various regulatory bodies responsible for supervising the conduct of the competition (the Lotteries Departments).

  28. If for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, we are entitled in our sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and (subject to any written directions given by the various Lotteries Departments), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.

Has anyone bought any of these products - I bought some Lee Kum Lee Soy Sauce 500ml - but I'm not totally sure about the barcode...the final number in the barcode is a '6' but it is much smaller than the other numbers and separated from them a bit, so I'm not sure whether it's actually part of the barcode or not, and hence whether I should include it as part of the final six digits.

I realise that doesn't make much sense but I don't know how to explain it better!

Has anyone bought any of these products - I bought some Lee Kum Lee Soy Sauce 500ml - but I'm not totally sure about the barcode...the final number in the barcode is a '6' but it is much smaller than the other numbers and separated from them a bit, so I'm not sure whether it's actually part of the barcode or not, and hence whether I should include it as part of the final six digits.

I realise that doesn't make much sense but I don't know how to explain it better!

I included the smaller number, it will not recognize the bar-code as valid with out it.
