The Australian Outback 4x4 Extreme is run by two local well known charities working together, Legacy and Rotary. Both charities are well known and very highly respected nationally. All money that is raised by these organizations is put back into the community through different projects.
The event committee includes a large cross section of professional and experienced people to ensure that this event is run to the highest standard possible with a large group of volunteers to assist. The event has secured the full backing of the local council, local tourist association, property owners, local 4x4 enthusiasts and local and interstate businesses. Our aim is for the Australian Outback 4x4 Extreme to be Australia’s best 4X4 event and attract the best local and international competitors.
The Australian Outback 4x4 Extreme is set to run from the 7th to 13th May 2011 on some of the toughest terrain available to man and machine in and around the Broken Hill area. Competitors will be exposed to a diverse range of terrain over the week long event with 20 gruelling stages. The event will be open to challenge and production class vehicles and is a Cross Country Drivers Association (CCDA) sanctioned event.
The Australian Outback 4x4 Extreme aims to provide both competitors and spectators with the best possible value for money available in Australian 4x4 competition today. Broken Hill has a large number of people experienced in all areas of 4x4 competition and those involved it this event can expect the event to be outstanding in all areas.
Safety of all those involved in the event is extremely high on the priorities list and for that reason we will have professional, medical and rescue personnel on site for the duration of the event.
All competitors will be based at a central base camp, located close to Broken Hill and spectators will have the choice of camping at the base camp or traversing to town to their chosen accommodation. Base camp will provide amenities such as showers and toilets and powered and a number of powered camp sites. Affordable fully catered packages are available for spectators and competitors will be catered for by way of their entry fee.
All competitors will travel daily to various properties within approximately 100km of Broken Hill to compete and there may be a couple of late night navigation stages where competitors will be required to camp at the property they are competing on and recommence competition early the next morning.
Prize money
We are offering a very generous amount of $37,500 cash prize money that will set a new benchmark for 4x4 competitions. We are offering prize money for 1st 2nd and 3rd overall placing, for both challenge and production class and prize money for stage placing from 1st to 10th place.To see the layout of prizes, click here.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Upon nomination, a $600.00 non-refundable deposit is required, which is not transferable to any other package, or persons;
2. Upon submitting your nomination online; you will be emailed a registration number, which you will use for payment purposes;
3. Upon receiving the full amount ($2,600.00), a receipt will be sent to you at your nominated email address;
4. If you are paying by cheque or money order, a copy of the nomination form must accompany payment and must be received within 14 day of submitting the online nomination form;
5. If withdrawing from the event, your entry fees may be claimed back (less your $600.00 non-refundable deposit) no later than 31st December 2010;
6. All nomination fees ($2,600.00) are to be paid in full by 31st January 2011, failure to meet this obligation will result in a total forfeit of all monies paid, and your nomination will be cancelled (no exceptions);
7. If your nomination is paid in full, and for unforeseen circumstances you are unable to compete, your nomination will only be transferrable to another competitor at the discretion of event organisers;
8. You must submit an email address so that the event organisers can endeavor to send you a monthly payment reminder, however, it is your responsibility to ensure your payment obligations are met;
9. If you choose to pay by installments please pay a minimum of $200. If you choose to pay more than this please pay in multiples of $100. (Please note, this is for additional payments after your non refundable deposit has been paid)
