By entering the competition, you accept these terms and conditions.
Entry is only open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over except employees and their immediate families of Trackcorp Adrenalin Pty Ltd ABN 13 117 402 838 (Adrenalin) and the agencies or companies providing the prizes or otherwise associated with the competition.
The competition starts at 9.00am (AEDT) on Monday 31 January and closes at 12pm (AEST) on Monday 5 September 2011 (Competition Period).
To enter, during the Competition Period, answer the questions and subscribe to the Adrenalin newsletter and provide your details (including name, email address and postcode). You consent to Adrenalin also contacting you from time to time in connection with promotional offers and other competitions. You may opt out at any time by sending us an email with unsubscribe in the header to
seriousfun@adrenalin.com.au.
All valid entries will be entered into the competition. Adrenalin accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, delayed, corrupted or misdirected entries whether due to error, omission, alteration, deletion, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise.
This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner/s. Each valid entry will be individually judged on the basis of literary and creative merit. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
In consideration for awarding the prize to each winner, each winner agrees to participate in any promotional activity regarding winning the prize and consents to their name and image being used in promotional material.
The best valid entry as determined by the judges will win the prize which consists of a 45 minute flight in a MIG-29 fighter jet. The prize includes the following;
- Return economy airfares for two people (the winner and an accompanying guest) from the winner’s nearest Australian capital city to Moscow Russia;
- A 45 minute flight (to approximately 19-21km altitude) in a Russian MIG-29 fighter jet at Sokol airbase in Nizhny Novgorod Russia (for the winner only) (Jet Fighter Flight);
- All transfers in Russia (for both the winner and accompanying guest)
- 4 nights’, 4-star accommodation in Russia (twin share including breakfasts)
- Photos and Video of the winner’s flight experience
- Guided tours with an English speaking interpreter in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod
The total prize pool is valued at AUD $32,000.00
The winner/s will be notified via email. If your contact details change during the Competition Period, it is your responsibility to notify Adrenalin.
Prizes are not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. If the winner does not take the prize or a part of the prize at the time set by Adrenalin, the winner will forfeit the prize or that part, as the case may be. Adrenalin accepts no responsibility for changes in prize value. If the prize is unavailable, Adrenalin will substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value. This may or may not be similar to the unavailable prize.
Unless otherwise specified prize winners are responsible for getting to and from the nearest capital city airport in Australia from which they will depart and return to and are responsible for their own costs of food and refreshments other than specified. A valid passport will be required for travel to Russia with a minimum of 6 months validity at time of departure and the prize winner and their guest are responsible for verifying visa requirements for Russia (and obtaining any required visa) and effecting travel insurance at their cost.
The prize winner and accompanying guest are responsible for providing their own spending money and for all ancillary costs such as in-room charges and any items of a personal nature. A credit card imprint will be required upon check-in at the accommodation in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod.
Adrenalin may request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of Adrenalin.
No changes can be made to the prize booking within 30 days of departure. Should the winner and accompanying guest be unable to make their flights they forfeit the prize. No correspondence will be entered into and no additional prize will be offered.
Medical Checks and Other Requirements
- The winner will be required to complete a detailed medical questionnaire and must provide a medical certificate from a qualified doctor stating they are fit to participate in the flight;
- The winner must also undergo a pre-flight medical check at Sokol airbase prior to the flight;
- The prize winner must weigh less than 100kg and not be more than 190cm in height;
- If the prize winner is over 40 years of age then further medical certificates will be required in order to verify that it is safe for the winner to participate in the flight;
- The winner and accompanying guest must complete a security clearance form to gain access to Sokol airbase and these forms must be submitted at least 60 days in advance of the scheduled flight. The winner’s ability to participate in the flight will be dependent upon them gaining security clearance for access to the Sokol airbase. If the winner is denied security clearance then they forfeit the prize. No correspondence will be entered into and no additional prize will be offered.
- The winner and accompanying guest will be required to sign the standard Assumption of Risk / Disclaimer form required by Adrenalin in order to participate in the flight. Such adventure experiences are by their nature potentially dangerous and by accepting any such prize the prize winner acknowledges such risk and agrees to voluntarily assume such risk. Persons who are elderly, suffering from cardiac problems, pregnant women and anyone not medically fit to fly must not attempt to participate in this experience and will be refused permission to participate in the flight on the grounds of safety.
- The prize/s must be claimed within 12 months of the competition close date otherwise that winner will forfeit the prize.
- Adrenalin may require that the winner produce evidence of adequate travel insurance effected in respect of the winner and their guest for travel to and from Russia 60 days in advance of the scheduled flight.
To the full extent permitted by law Adrenalin, its officers, employees, contractors and agents will not be liable for any loss (including without limitation, indirect, consequential or indirect loss), cost or damage, personal injury or death which is suffered (whether due to the negligence of any person, including Adrenalin, or otherwise) in connection with entering the competition or using the prize.
In relation to that part of the prize which relates to the Jet Fighter Flight, Adrenalin excludes the application of the provisions of the Australian Consumer Law contained in Subdivision B of Division 1 of Part 3-2, in respect of liability for:
(a) death; or
(b) a physical or mental injury of an individual (including the aggravation, acceleration or recurrence of such an injury of the individual); or
(c) the contraction, aggravation or acceleration of a disease of an individual;or
(d) the coming into existence, the aggravation, acceleration or recurrence of any other condition, circumstance, occurrence, activity, form of behaviour, course of conduct or state of affairs in relation to an individual that is or may be harmful or disadvantageous to the individual or community or that may result in harm or disadvantage to the individual or community.
In this document "Australian Consumer Law" has the meaning given under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
Nothing in this document will exclude, restrict or modify any right a person may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other legislation which under such laws cannot be excluded, restricted or modified.
Adrenalin accepts no responsibility for the tax implications from prize winnings.
The personal information you provide will be used by Adrenalin, and may be disclosed to its agents, to conduct the competition. You consent to such use, storage and disclosure.
Any person invited by the prize winner to share in the prize as their accompanying guest and who elects to take up this part of the prize does so on the basis that he or she also accepts these terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales and the prize winner, their guest and Adrenalin submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of such state.
