Davis Guggenheim doesn’t simply have just about the most fashionable name in modern day cinema, but he’s also a brilliant filmmaker, having made one of the scariest films in memory, 2006’s An Inconvenient Truth, which boasts narration from none other than Al Gore. He’s also married to Elisabeth Shue, has worked on Deadwood and The Shield, and has directed official films for Barack Obama. Yeah. His latest documentary, Waiting For “Superman”, looks at the failure of America’s public education through the eyes of students.
