Control’s Sam Riley stars in Brighton Rock, the latest adaptation of Graham Greene’s novel about petty criminals, gang violence and the nature of good and evil in a British seaside town. Updated to the ‘60s, it’s a sharper, more mod-ish Pinkie Brown who pits himself against the moral Ida Brown (Helen Mirren), with the heart of the innocent Rose (Andrea Riseborough) in the balance.
