AirfaresDetails of Promotion2.Entry is open to all Australian residents. Immediate family members of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion, including but not limited to Virgin Australia, are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
3.Promotion commences on 12.01am on 10 June 2011 and ends midnight on 1 August 2011 (“Promotional Period”)
4.To enter Eligible Entrants must, during the Promotional Period, submit an original, unpublished short story on the 2022 AFL World Rules in accordance with the Promotion criteria and Submission Guidelines (“Criteria”) set out on
www.aflrecord.com.au (“Website”).
5.Incomplete, illegible or incorrect entries, or which contain offensive or defamatory comments, or which breach any law or infringe any third party rights, including intellectual property rights, will be deemed invalid.
6.If there is a dispute as to the identity of an Eligible Entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the Eligible Entrant.
7.The Promoter reserves the right, at any time during, or after the closing date of the promotion, to verify the validity of entries and Eligible Entrants (including an Eligible Entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any Eligible Entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
8.Only one (1) entry permitted per person.
9.Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the promotion database and NOT at the time of transmission by the Eligible Entrant. Any cost associated with accessing the Website is the Eligible Entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
10.The winners will be the Eligible Entrants who submit the first, second and third best short stories in accordance with the Criteria and these Terms and Conditions, as determined by the editors of the AFL Record in their absolute discretion.
11.The winners will be contacted on or before 9 September 2011 via the email address and telephone number that was provided at the time the entry was submitted to the Promoter. All Eligible Entrants will be notified of the Promoter’s decision via the email address that was provided at the time the entry was submitted to the Promoter.
12.The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
13.The winners, and their parents and/or guardians if applicable, give permission for the winner’s name and winning story to be published on the Website, on
www.afl.com.au and in the AFL record as follows:
a.First prize winner to be published in the 2011 Toyota AFL Grand Final Record;
b.Second prize winner to be published in the 2011 AFL Preliminary Final edition of the AFL record; and
c.Third prize winner to be published in the 2011 AFL Semi Final edition of the AFL record.
Prize Details14.The prizes are as follows:
a.First prize is two (2) international return premium economy flights to Los Angeles, from either Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney airport, whichever is closest to where the winner resides;
b.Second prize is two (2) domestic return premium economy flights to Nadi, Fiji from either Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney airport, whichever is closest to where the winner resides; and
c.Third prize is two (2) domestic return economy flights from winner’s closest domestic port to anywhere on the Virgin Australia domestic network.
15.All flights are with Virgin Australia and Virgin Australia’s normal terms and conditions of carriage shall apply.
16.The winners and their companion/s will be responsible for all other expenses including but not limited to flight taxes, fees and surcharges (which will need to be paid by credit card at the time of booking), accommodation, transfers, spending money, meals (where meals are not already included with the flights) and tips and incidentals, if applicable.
17.Flights are non-transferable (no name changes permitted) and cannot be redeemed for cash.
18.All flights are subject to availability at the time of booking and all bookings must be made at least seven (7) days prior to travel. Flights cannot be taken during national school holidays.
19.Flights are valid until 1 June 2012 (this expiry will not be extended under any circumstances).
20.To redeem the flights, the winners must call 07 3295 3166 between 9.00am and 5.00pm AEST Monday to Friday or email
prizewinners@virginaustralia.com.
21.Any changes made to flight details once a booking has been processed will incur a $50 change fee per guest per change.
22.Any credit received from a booking cancellation will be held and can be used for future travel for up to twelve (12) months from the original booking date (provided such future travel occurs prior to 1 June 2012). All future bookings utilising such credit may be made at applicable Guest Contact Centre fare levels by telephoning 136 789.
23.Any passengers who do not notify Virgin Australia at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure that they are unable to take the booked flight will forfeit the prize tickets.
