01/09/2011
Weekend Overnights are bringing ‘Books Alive’...
Yes that’s right; Weekend Overnights are celebrating ‘Books Alive 2011’ by giving you the chance to win one of three prize packs containing all 50 of the ‘Books Alive’ 2011 Top 50 Reads You Can’t Put Down. How’s that for a ‘to read’ list?
So what do you have to do to be in the running for this booktastic prize?
We here at Overnights love a good yarn and we would like you to create one for us. It’s doesn’t need to be the next epic paper weight, just a short story to entertain us.
In up to 150 words you will need to write an original short story exploring any topic, style, genre or theme. But there is one major rule – this story must contain three of the titles from the ‘Books Alive’ 2011 Top 50 Reads You Can’t Put Down.
The story must be an original work created specifically for this competition and make sense within its own separate context. Apart from being original, it should be entertaining, compelling and we want it to make us react – be it in a happy or sad way. Plus, spelling and grammar are important!
We want you to bring your story alive for us as all entries will be personally judged by the Weekend Overnights team.
Entries open at 9am on Sunday September 4th 2011 and close at midnight on Monday September 26th 2011. Our winners will be announced live on air on Friday September 30th 2011 and contacted directly.
To enter the competition online click here, you will need to state your Full Name and Email and have "Book Competition Entry" as the Subject. Alternatively you can send entries to:

Happy writing and hopefully happy reading!
