Origin and 3AW Breakfast are teaming up to give you the hottest tickets in town this month.

We have two tickets to the place to be on Grand Final Day - The September Club, including two tickets to the game. One runners up will win a double General Admission pass to the 2011 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

To enter, all you need to do is tell us “What original thing would you be willing to do to go to the Grand Final”? Then stay tuned to Ross and John to hear if you're a lucky winner.

** winners must be aged 18 and over.

Origin creates history by powering all AFL Finals with 100% GreenPower

For the first time in history, all matches played throughout the 2011 Toyota AFL Finals Series will be powered with 100% Origin GreenPower.

This means Origin will have 100% of the electricity consumption of each finals game matched into the grid with electricity from GreenPower accredited renewable sources.

Origin’s GreenPower contribution will lessen the greenhouse gas emissions normally produced during the AFL Finals by more than 790 tonnes. That’s the equivalent of the electricity use of approximately 1,000 average Australian homes for an entire month!*

Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge has joined Origin as a GreenPower customer and the official GreenPower Ambassador for the 2011 Toyota AFL Finals Series. Luke and his family are currently renovating their family home, which will undergo an Origin energy audit to help make it more sustainable and energy efficient – fitted with the latest energy efficient home products.

“I’m really excited to be supporting this initiative! Having nine massive finals powered by 100% Origin GreenPower will have a really positive influence in educating players and supporters about how they can make a positive difference to their impact on the environment,” said Luke.

Phil Craig, Retail General Manager, Origin said that powering all AFL Finals with 100% GreenPower was a simple and effective way for Origin to help the AFL reduce the environmental impact of energy use during one of Australia’s most high-powered sporting series.

“Last year we were able to reduce the carbon footprint of the AFL Finals Series by nearly 270 tonnes by providing 100% green energy for the AFL Grand Final and 25% for the other eight AFL Finals Series matches. This year, by powering all finals with 100% GreenPower, we will increase that figure to 790 tonnes. It’s a simple and easy example of how we can make a difference.”

AFL General Manager Commercial Operations Darren Birch said the AFL is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and welcomed the commitment by Origin to provide GreenPower during the finals. “By having 100 per cent Origin GreenPower provided for every game in the finals, we can make a really positive difference to our impact on the environment and significantly reduce our carbon footprint. The initiative also provides the opportunity to raise awareness and encourage football supporters to think about the environment” said Mr Birch.

To help spread the GreenPower word during 2011 Toyota AFL Grand Final Week Origin Energy will set up an interactive footy site at Federation Square. Footy fans can meet their favourite players,

have autographs signed, photos taken and will also have the opportunity to harness their own power on special power bikes.
