Remember when Green Papaya was owned by Quan Yeomans' mum, Lens? And then all of a sudden, the story was that the singing taxi driver was the owner? We never really figured that one. We hope he's still singing somewhere. Green Papaya changed hands again, and what a better way to keep a restaurant fresh than by handing it over to it's new owners - especially when they're the father of a certain person who works at The Thousands (and singer in a much less popular band). Music theme anyone?
This institution of Thai and Balinese cuisine just got a little tastier - the guys at Green Papaya are now letting you take home your own red curry, green curry, sambal and satay sauces so no more tacky Chicken Tonight that tastes like cardboard doused in liquified dust. The pastes are the same ones made from scratch and use in-house, but now you can get a little inventive with your cuisine at home. Banana and sambal jaffle, here I come*.
