http://mamagrace.com/2011/12/going-bananas-this-summer-review-and-giveaway/I don’t know if it’s because they like seeing another pair of identical beings on TV, but the twinlets are always intrigued by Bananas In Pyjamas. Their voices are warm and familiar. They’re a little goofy but also lovable and get into all sorts of fun adventures. My twinlets to a “T”…
So, being selected as part of the Digital Parents group to review the latest BIP iPhone/iPad apps was a real delight !
“Beach Fun” ($1.99) is designed for children between 2 – 4 years old. It’s an interactive and fun app and its aim is to highlight the importance of sun safety.
You can squirt sun screen on B1 and B2 (it’s awesome fun squirting the ENTIRE bottle…), rub it in their faces then chose hat and sunglasses for them to wear, to get ready for some beach play time.
Then, sandcastles !!! Who doesn’t love to build sandcastles ?! There are different buckets to choose from and then once decorating the castle with feathers, sticks and other decorative pieces, you can knock it down !!!
Now, my little boys are one month short of turning 2. They weren’t quite sure how to work the game on their own and their little fat fingers found it a little hard to move the creative pieces over to the sandcastle.
Also, for its price, I thought having only two stages was limiting and a little disappointing.
But, I am at the moment desperate to find ways to keep hats on the twinlets. It’s a constant battle for me chasing them around the park while they rip them off their heads. So, this app has been great for them to become familiar with hats and understanding how it relates to the beach and most importantly…the harsh Australian sun.
“Say Cheese” ($2.99) was my favourite app !
You can take photos with your iPhone and then decorate it with stickers and different frames that feature all the BIP characters.
Unfortunately, I only have a 3GS iPhone so I couldn’t use the camera rotation function. This made things a little tough. Once hearing the Bananas voices literally say “Cheese”, the twinlets would run to me and the phone. They kept wanting to take a peek at their little Banana buddies rather than have their photo taken.
Would I pay for the app ? Not sure. I would definitely make sure that I had the latest iPhone so I knew it was completely compatible with all the app’s features.
Anyway, I did manage to get some cool shots…
Little K snorkelling
Little N and his fancy bow tie and Pirate hat.
You can go back to old photos and decorate those too ! Awesome !
Having friends over for dinner...
