2. WHO CAN ENTER?
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open only to all residents of Queensland. Must be able to show upon request proof of residency e.g. Drivers Licence.
2.2 Employees and their immediate families of Queensland Newspapers Pty Ltd trading as
News Queensland and the Queensland Art Gallery and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether by natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The competition commences on Saturday July 7, 2012 at 00.05 (AEST) and concludes on Sunday July 22, 2012 at 23:55 (“the Competition Period”)
3.2 To enter the competition, entrants must go to
www.couriermail.com.au/portraitofspain and submit an online entry form including the entrant’s full name, address, postcode, day contact number and email address.
3.3 Entrants may only enter in the competition once with a valid email address.
3.4 Phone, email and SMS entries are invalid and will not be accepted.
3.5 Entrants under the age of 18 years must obtain the prior permission of a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years before entering the competition.
3.6 If the major prize winner is under the age of 18 years, the winner must be accompanied during the course of prize redemption by a parent or legal guardian over the age of 18 years in order to be eligible.
4. PRIZES
4.1 There is one (1) major prize winner and five (5) runner-up winners who will be drawn randomly, from all correct entries received during the promotional period in accordance with clause 2 and clause 3, on Monday July 23, 2012 at 10:00 at the office of News Queensland, Cnr Mayne Rd & Campbell St, Bowen Hills Qld 4006.
MAJOR PRIZE
One (1) major prize winner will be drawn randomly, from all correct entries received during the promotional period. The major winner will receive the corresponding prize package as set out below:
• Two (2) return economy flights to Madrid, valid between 25 August 2012 and
13 December 2012. Flights to be booked by Queensland Art Gallery and tickets are
non-transferrable
• Five (5) night’s accommodation in central Madrid for two (2) people, valid between
25 August 2012 and 13 December 2012. Accommodation is to be booked by Queensland Art Gallery and will be at a venue agreed upon by Queensland Newspapers Pty Ltd trading as News Queensland and the Queensland Art Gallery, to the value of $2,000
• One (1) VIP tour for two (2) people at the Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid
• Two (2) complimentary tickets to the ‘Portrait of Spain: Masterpieces from the Prado’ exhibition at the Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane
• Lunch for two (2) people in the ‘La Sala del Prado’ exhibition Café to the value of $100

RUNNERS-UP PRIZE
Five (5) runner-up prize winners will be drawn randomly, from all correct entries received during the promotional period. The five (5) runner-up prize winners will each receive the corresponding prize package as set out below:
• Two (2) passes to the ‘Portrait of Spain: Masterpieces from the Prado’ exhibition at the Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane
• One (1) ‘Portrait of Spain: Masterpieces from the Prado’ merchandise pack to the value of $150
TOTAL PRIZE VALUE APPROX $1,000.00 (excl. GST)
4.2 The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. In the event that any prize item is unavailable; the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize item of equal or greater value. Any taxes (other than GST, if any) which may be payable as a consequence of a winner receiving the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners. The prize is strictly as stated above.
4.3 Travel must be taken between 25 August 2012 and 13 December 2012. If the prize is not able to be redeemed within this time, prize will be forfeited. In the event of a no-show, the ticket/s may not be changed for reissued. Ticket/s cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts or special offers.
4.4 Prize winner and nominated travelling companion must travelling companion must travel together.
4.5 It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure they acquire the correct documentation to allow entry into Spain at time of travel.
4.6 All other costs are the responsibility of the prize winner and their companion including spending money, meals, drinks, transfers (unless specified), laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, taxes (including departure taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs.
4.7 In participating in the prizes, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the promotion, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winners grant the promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
4.8 Each entrant who has entered the competition over the Competition Period and registered all details in accordance with clause 3 or clause 4 will be entered into the prize draw.
4.9 The winner may be announced in The Courier-Mail (subject to the Editor’s decision). The prize winner will be notified by phone or mail, with a prize letter within three days of the draw.
4.10 The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
4.11 A redraw for any major prize, if unclaimed, may take place on 30/07/12 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. Winner, if any will be notified in writing and or phone within two (2) business days of the draw.
4.12 If an entrant marks the "opt-in" box on the entry coupon, the entrant consents to the storage of their personal information on the specified companies’ databases and the specified companies may use this information at any time in the future for promotional and marketing purposes regarding their respective products or services including contacting the entrant via electronic messaging.
5. NO LIABILITY
5.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to State Legislation.
5.2 Queensland Newspapers Pty Ltd trading as News Queensland and the Queensland Art Gallery and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
5.3 Queensland Newspapers Pty Ltd trading as News Queensland and the Queensland Art Gallery and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
a) during the draw;
b) whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the draw; or
c) in the participation in any prize;
d) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
e) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;
f) in relation to failure of a mail entry being received by the promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion;
g) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines or mobile communications network related to or resulting from participation in this promotion;
h) due to circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.

5.5 If, for any reason, this competition is not capable of being conducted as planned, including, but not limited, due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to State Legislation.
