Terms and Conditions of entry
1. Information on how to enter the Competition and the prize details form part of these terms and conditions of entry. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. The Promoter of the Competition is The Herald & Weekly Times Pty Ltd (HWT), of 40 City Road, Southbank, 3006, Victoria, ABN 49 004 113 937.
3. The Competition is open to all legal residents of Victoria who are 18 years or over at the time of entry except employees and immediate family of the Promoter and its agencies associated with this promotion.
4. The Competition opens at 6.00am AEST on Saturday 28th July 2012 and closes at 6.00pm AEST on Sunday 29th July 2012. To enter, email your name, address and daytime contact number to

5. Only one (1) entry per person will be accepted. There will be fifty (50) winners. The winners will be randomly selected from all valid entries received during the competition period in accordance with these terms and conditions.
6. Each winner will receive one (1) double pass to attend the Herald Sun Home Show valued at $40.00. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
7. Only entries that comply with these terms and conditions will be eligible. The entries will be drawn at the office of News Custom Publishing, Level 2, IBM Building, 60 City Road, Southbank, Victoria at 11am AEST on Monday 30th July 2012. Each winner will be notified by email and his or her name published in the public notices section of the Herald Sun newspaper on Friday 3rd August 2012. The passes will be sent via mail to the winners.
8. The passes are valid for use at the Herald Sun Home Show from Thursday 16th August 2012 to Sunday 19th August 2012 and are valid for only one single entry during the event dates. Opening times are Thursday and Sunday 10am – 6pm, Friday and Saturday 10am – 9pm. The Herald Sun Home Show will take place at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, 2 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne, VIC 3006. Visit

9. Upon receipt of entries, they become the property of the Promoter and will not be returned to the entrants. All entries will be entered into a database and the Promoter may potentially use the entrants’ names, addresses and telephone numbers for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid unless otherwise advised by the entrant. The entrants irrevocably consent to the Promoter publishing the entries and entrants’ names in the Herald Sun Home magazine and/or The Herald Sun Newspaper and/or internet.
10. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any lost, stolen or misdirected prizes which are not as a result of fault of the Promoter. Where any prize is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute that prize for a prize of equal value at the publishing date.
11. The prize is strictly as above. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. The promoter may in its discretion refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these terms and conditions.
12. If for any reason any aspect of this competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities where required.
13. The Promoter does not exclude any rights and remedies in respect of goods or services under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or equivalent State or Territory legislation which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. However, the Promoter excludes all rights, remedies, conditions and warranties in respect of goods or services from your use of this site, your entry into this competition or your enjoyment of the prize whether based in statute, common law or otherwise to the extent permitted by law. To the full extent permitted by the law, the Promoter will not be liable for any loss (including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of opportunity, revenue or profit), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this promotion or from accepting or using the prize.
14. The Herald & Weekly Times Pty Limited collects your personal information to assist us in providing the goods or services you have requested, to process your Competition entries, and to improve our products and services. We or any of our Australian related companies may be in touch by any means (including by SMS or email) at any time in the future to let you know about goods, services or promotions which may be of interest to you. We may also share your information with other persons or entities who assist us in providing our services, running Competitions or with other companies who provide prizes for Competitions or reader offers.
