Brisbane Writers Festival (BWF) takes place in and around the State Library of Queensland from 5-9 September. The Festival has been celebrating reading, writing and ideas with the people of Queensland, showcasing international, national and local writers for 50 years. Renowned for its energy and casual intellect, the Festival brings together readers, writers, innovators and provocateurs within the cultural precinct. Join in conversations ranging from fiction to fantasy, science to sustainability and everything in between. Celebrate BWF’s 50th birthday by sharing stories of adventure, history, music and memoir with your favourite writers and discover new names along the way at a range of writer talks, book readings and feature events. Indulge your inner-writer with creative and industry workshops for everyone from the novice to the experienced professional. Shoot the Breezeway each evening at The Pineapple Lounge with some of Australia’s finest singer songwriters. Come down to the river and hear the stories behind the songs over a fine wine or a notorious Pineapple Lounge Cocktail.
To WIN a double pass to one of the Festival’s highlight events for 2012, the all night Literary Love-in on Saturday 8 September, email win@bwf.org.au with the title Dendy Competition and your details. Visit
