Win a trip for 2 to the Historic UK as promoted via:

1. Simon & Schuster Australia is the Promoter of this competition.
2. Competition is open to Australian and New Zealand residents only.
3. Entrants must be aged
18 years or over.

Only one entry per person is allowed.
5. Instructions on how to enter form part of the conditions of entry.
6. The total prize package includes:
1. 5 nights’ accommodation for 2 people at the Kensington Close Hotel, Kensington,
London UK (twin or double room with breakfast daily);
2. 2 return economy class airfares from the winner’s nearest city (Adelaide, Auckland,
Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney only) to London UK, inclusive
of taxes and surcharges;
3. Private chauffeur service from Heathrow Airport UK to Kensington Close Hotel,
Kensington UK, plus return journey; and
4. The winner can choose one Flight Centre day trip package - either Windsor, Bath and
Stonehenge or Warwick Castle and Cotswolds) as available through Flight Centre
02/08/12.
7. The total prize package value will not exceed AUD $8000.00
8. The prize winner must travel between November 2012 and March 2013 and blackout dates
may apply.
9. The Promoter will supply the prize winner’s details to Natasha Gill at Flight Centre Crows
Nest. Then in order to claim their prize, the prize winner must contact Natasha Gill at Flight
Centre Crows Nest by phone +61 2 9460 6380.
10. The prize winner will then be responsible for booking all aspects of the trip through Flight
Centre Crows Nest.
11. The prize can only be claimed by the winner, whose details will be provided to Natasha Gill at
Flight Centre Crows Nest by the Promoter.
12. All aspects of the prize package are subject to availability as determined by each of the
service providers involved in this competition at the time of booking.
13. If a prize item or items from the prize package outlined in clause 6.is /are not available at the
time of booking, The Promoter reserves the right to award the winner a similar prize item or
items of equal or lesser value.
14. All spending money, meals, transfers to and from departure points within Australia and
overseas (unless specified in clause 6.), passports, visas, taxes, travel or other insurance,
medical costs, vaccination and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the prize
winner (and their companion).
15. The Promoter is not responsible for any item, service, cost, claim or matter not expressly
stated to be included in the prize package in clause 6., howsoever the same may arise.
16. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure they and their travelling companion acquire the
correct documentation to allow entry into the UK.
17. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the
hotel, for all incidental charges.
18. The prize is subject to the terms and conditions of participating service providers or any other
terms and conditions that may be notified from time to time. The winner must adhere to all
terms and conditions of the participating service provider.
19. Once the prize has been booked, cancellation or amendments can only be made at the prize
winner’s own expense, if available, and through the relevant service provider.
20. Entry is online only via
www.kingmakersdaughter.com.au . Entries via phone and email are
invalid and will not be accepted.
21. Entrants must complete the entry form and write in 30 words or less what they love about
Philippa Gregory’s books, and agree to adhere to these Competition Rules, Terms and
Conditions. 22. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in the determination of the prize winner. Each
entry will be individually judged on its creativity and originality as determined by the
Promoter in their sole discretion.
23. The opening date for entries is 9am AEST 16/08/12 and closing date is midnight AEST
01/10/12. 24. Employees and immediate family of the Promoter, Pearson New Zealand and Flight Centre
are ineligible to enter.
25. The prize winner will be drawn on 05/10/12 at Simon & Schuster Australia Suite 19A, Level 1,
Building C, 450 Miller Street, Cammeray NSW 2062. The prize winner will be contacted within
7 days by telephone or email.
26. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
27. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry
which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially
insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements.
28. The Promoter also reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry
process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of
Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the promotion
which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or
reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter. This includes, but not limited, to entrants and
households using multiple email addresses, postal addresses or PO Box addresses. The
Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a prize winner if the Promoter becomes aware that
the prize winner and/or the prize winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
29. The prize winner’s name and locality will be announced publicly through our Twitter and
Facebook networks, our website
http://pages.simonandschuster.com.au/competition/ and in
any publicity relating to the competition.
30. If the prize is unclaimed within 14 days from 12/10/12, an unclaimed prize draw will be held on
26/10/12 at Simon and Schuster Australia, Suite 19A, Level 1, Building C, 450 Miller Street
CAMMERAY, NSW, 2062. The original prize winner will forfeit the prize and the prize winner
of the unclaimed prize draw will be notified by telephone or email within 7 days of the draw.
31. If the prize winner of the unclaimed prize draw cannot be contacted by 5/11/12 the Promoter
reserves the right to withdraw the prize indefinitely.
32. The prizes are as stated and are non-transferable. No cash alternatives will be offered. If, due
to circumstances beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter is unable to provide the
stated prize, the Promoter reserves the right to award an alternative prize, of the Promoter’s
choice, of equal or lesser value.
33. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or
significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition in the manner
described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power
failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the
Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition or choose to recommence it
at a different time.
34. The Promoter, Flight Centre Crows Nest and their associated agencies and companies will
take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
35. The Promoter, Flight Centre Crows Nest and their associated agencies and companies
assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in
operation or transmission; communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised
access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be
available.
36. The Promoter, Flight Centre Crows Nest and their associated agencies and companies will
not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, death, loss (including but not limited to
consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
1. during the draw;
2. whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the draw;
3. in the participation in any prize;
4. as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
5. due to the broadcast or the publication of any material, including any statements
made by other entrants or any other person;
6. due to circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.
37. Privacy statement: we will only use and store your personal information for the purposes
disclosed to you, including sharing it with any other service provider that helps us provide
goods or services to you (eg. delivering your prize to you).
38. You will only receive marketing material from us if you check the appropriate boxe(s) on your
entry form.
39. By entering this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions [and
by any other requirements set out in the promotional material] which may be amended or
varied at any time by the Promoter.
