Terms and Conditions
Instructions on how to enter and the prize forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Entry is open to Australian residents of all ages. Employees of the Promoter, advertising agencies and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. Entrants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Only one entry per person will be permitted.
The promotion commences on 6th August 2012 and c
loses 11.59pm AEST on 8th September 2012. The judging will take place at the Promoter's premises and will begin on Monday 17th September 2012. The winner will be notified by phone and mail using contact details provided in their entry.
This is a game of skill, chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on its literary and creative merit of the answer to the question provided. The judges' decision in relation to any aspect of the competition will be final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into.

tell us in 25 words or less: "what would you do for your father this father's day"?The entrant warrants to the Promoter that the entry submitted is an original artistic work of the Entrant that does not infringe the rights of any third parties. If the entry or any part of the information provided to the entrant in relation to the entry was provided by a third party, the entrant warrants that they have obtained the relevant copyright permission to submit the entry for the purposes of this promotion. The entrant agrees to indemnify the promoter against all claims and costs by third parties arising from a breach of the warranty set out in this condition.
The Promoter is entitled to use any of the entries submitted in any manner and for any purpose at its absolute discretion, including using the entries for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the entrant. The Promoter is entitled to amend, edit, select, crop, retouch, add to or delete from any part of the submitted entry.
Entries must not be offensive, defamatory or racist. Any entry which the judges deem inappropriate will be invalid.
The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions will be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.
The best valid entry, as determined by the judges, will win the below prize:
5 x Corporate Box entrance tickets & catering valued at up to $3,800 to a standard AFL or NRL game during the 2013 season at the winner's nearest stadium to the winner's place of residence (to be determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion). Prize does not include any Semi Final, Grand Final or special event games during the 2013 AFL or NRL season. The stadium where the prize can be redeemed will be determined by the Promoter from the following list of stadiums:
MCG (Melbourne),
ANZ Stadium (Sydney),
Suncorp Stadium (Brisbane), or
Subiaco Stadium (Perth).
Corporate Box Tickets includes five (5) seats a shared fully catered for Corporate Box at the winner's closest stadium from the list of stadiums provided. The location of the Corporate Box will be determined by the Promoter at its complete discretion. Any other meals and drinks (unless specified) are at the expense of winner. The Corporate Box Tickets is a general admission only and does not include the winner being able to participate in any initiation only or restricted access components of the event. The winner will be provided a list of dates in 2013 that they can redeem the prize upon winner notification. This component of the prize is subject to availability at the time of booking;
If the winner is from VIC, TAS, SA or WA:
a.they will also receive 5 x tickets to the AFL Footy Show Grand Final 2013 valued at $1,000 and 5 x return economy flights from the winner's nearest closest capital city to Melbourne to be redeemed on the same day as the AFL Footy Show Grand Final valued at up to $1,000 (depending on point of departure). The winner will also receive 1 x night's accommodation in 2x standard rooms for a total of 5 people in a minimum of 3 star accommodations up to the value of $1,300; or If the winner is from NSW, ACT, NT or QLD:
b.they will receive 5 x tickets to the NRL Footy Show Grand Final in 2013 valued at $1,000 and 5 x Return economy flights from the winner's nearest capital city to Sydney to be redeemed on the same day as the NRL Footy Show Grand Final valued at up to $1,000 (depending on point of departure). The winner will also receive 1 x night's accommodation in a 2x standard rooms for a total of 5 people in a minimum of 3 star accommodations up to the value of $1,300;
1x Extreme flying experience voucher through Red Balloon valued at $500. Flight experience vouchers by Red Balloon component of the prize must be redeemed in full by 2nd September 2013. Prize will be awarded in the form of a voucher. Prize is subject to availability at the time of booking. Red Balloon vouchers much be used within 6 months of their purchase date;
1x Top Gear Live show experience in Sydney for the winner and one (1) companion, including the following prize elements;

If the winner is from VIC, SA, WA, TAS, QLD, NT, the prize also includes 2 x return economy flights from the winner's nearest capital city to Sydney, NSW and 1 x night's accommodation in a standard room for 2 people (total of 1 room) in a minimum of 3 star accommodations up to the value of $1,400, will be supplied.
In the event that the Top Gear Live show does not go ahead, the winner is entitled to a Red Balloon voucher to the value of $1,000, which must be redeemed in full by 2nd September 2013. Red Balloon vouchers much be used within 6 months of their purchase date; and
1 x Karcher Prize Pack valued at $1,400.
For the avoidance of doubt, one (1) entrant will be judged the winner, and will be awarded all elements of the prize, as detailed above. Total prize pool is valued at up to $10,000. Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming any of the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
The "Meet & Greet" awarded as part of the Top Gear Live show experience provides the winner (and his/her companion) with an opportunity to meet one or more members of Top Gear editorial team at the Top Gear Live show, and an opportunity to have a photograph taken with the Top Gear editorial team at the Top Gear Live show. These elements of the prize are not guaranteed and are subject to the goodwill of the Top Gear editorial team at the Top Gear Live show on the day. The Promoter accepts no responsibility and will not offer any alternative in the event that these elements of the prize cannot be offered for any reason.
The tickets or passes award as part of the prize are subject to the event venue and ticket terms and conditions, including any applicable age restriction. The Promoter and event organisers hereby expressly reserve the right to eject the winner (and/or his/her companion/s) for any inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to intoxication, whilst participating in any element of the prize.
The winner (and their companion/s) are responsible for all other expenses including but not limited to taxes, surcharges, spending money, meals (unless specified), drinks, transfers (unless specified), laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs.
Transport to and from departure point including but not limited to additional Domestic airfares if required, any additional meals, any extra sightseeing or activities, any additional accommodation, personal spending money, and all other ancillary costs, as well as obtaining any of these, are the responsibility of the winner and their travel companions. Prize also excludes medical expenses, items of a personal nature, beverages, optional tours not outlined, laundry, telephone calls, additional nights, room upgrades or other ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize other than those specified. These costs and expenses are the responsibility of the winner. Any extension to the duration of the prize is at the winner's sole expense and subject to availability at the time of booking. For the removal of doubt, taxes for domestic travel are included in the prize winning domestic airfares provided by the Promoter.
A credit card imprint or cash deposit will be required from the winner at check-in of the hotel for all incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued they are non-changeable.
Prize values are based upon the full fare prices at the time of drafting competition terms. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption dates.
Unless expressly stated in these conditions of entry all other expenses (including travel to and from the departure point) become the responsibility of the winner (and any companion/s).
The prize (or any part thereof) cannot be sold, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken for cash.
The winner (and any companion/s) must travel on the same dates, depart from and return to the same point of departure and travel together. Frequent flyer points will not form part of the prize. Standard conditions for tickets and accommodation apply. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner will not be compensated for unused portions of the prize.
All elements of the prize must be taken as offered. The prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed as cash. The prize is not valid in conjunction with any other offer. The prize is valued in Australian dollars. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. Prize winner is advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize. In the event that a portion of the prize is awarded to the winner in the form of a voucher / ticket / pass, redemption of that portion of the prize will be subject to the terms and conditions stipulated on the voucher / ticket / pass. The Promoter will not be liable for any voucher / ticket / pass that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.
Any unused balance of any voucher or gift card will not be awarded as cash. Redemption of any voucher or gift card is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer including (but not limited to) those specified on the voucher or gift card.
The prize does not include any installation or set-up of any of the products.
Products included in prize package (including but not limited to titles, colour, design, sizing, model, finish, style etc) will be determined by the promoter in its complete discretion.
Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers.
Entries not completed in accordance with the Terms and Conditions or received after the closing date will not be considered. Indecipherable or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
If for any reason the winner does not redeem an element of the prize by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.
If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.
Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website is the entrant's responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are the winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia ("Non-Excludable Guarantees"). In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right to either provide an alternative prize to the same value as the original prize or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion, as appropriate.
If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
All entries become the property of the Promoter. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this competition is governed by The Privacy Notice (see contents page for location in this issue).
By entering the competition, the entrant consents to receipt of any email regarding the competition, and other emails which inform the entrant of the Promoter's other publications, products, services and events and to promote third party goods and services it may be interested in.
By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised by the entrant, each entrant consents to the information they submit with their entry being entered into a database and the Promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment to the entrant.
