2. Entry is open to all residents of Queensland and New South Wales.
3. Promotion: Promotion commences in Queensland on 18 August, 2012, and in New South Wales on 25 August 2012. Promotion closes in both states at 5pm (AEST) on 19 October, 2012 (”Promotion Period”). The Promotion will be running across the following print and online publications (“Participating Publications”): The Mackay Daily Mercury, The Rockhampton Morning Bulletin, The Gladstone Observer, The Bundaberg NewsMail, The Fraser Coast Chronicle, The Gympie Times, The Sunshine Coast Daily, Sunshine Coast Sunday, QT – The Queensland Times, The Toowoomba Chronicle, The Warwick Daily News, The Northern Star, The Daily Examiner, The Coffs Coast Advocate, The Tweed Daily News.
4. Entry: To enter, readers must register their details by successfully completing in full an online registration survey by 5pm on 19 October, 2012. By registering, Contestants agree to be contacted by, and to participate in, reader surveys conducted by Nielsen on behalf of the Promoter. Contestants may only submit one entry per person to the Promotion. Any additional entries submitted by a Contestant will be invalid.
5. Prize: There is one first prize consisting of $15,000 credit at Flight Centre Australia. There are five consolation prizes each consisting of $500 credit at Flight Centre. Total prize value is $17,500. Any taxes which may be payable as a consequence of a winner receiving a prize are the sole responsibility of that winner. Prizes are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash. If any component of the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize or any part of it for a prize of equal or greater value.
Prizes are redeemable at Flight Centre retail stores located within Australia and must be used within 12 months from the date the prize is awarded. Prizes will be subject to Flight Centre’s terms and conditions applicable to use of Flight Centre credit, which may be obtained by contacting Flight Centre on 133 133.
It is the winner's responsibility to take out, at their own cost, all relevant insurance (including but not limited to travel insurance) which may be required or prudent to be taken. It is the winner's personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the travellers.
The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
6. Eligibility limitations: Contestants must be at least 18 years of age to enter. The following persons are ineligible to enter:
(i) employees of, or contractors to, the Promoter so far as they are directly associated with this Promotion;
(ii) Contestants who have used or attempted to use any more than one name in order to qualify for this promotion except in the case of a legal change of name.
All Contestants acknowledge that even if the Promoter only learns of a person’s ineligibility after the Promoter has appeared to award the prize to the ineligible person, it may require the return of the prize or payment of its value to the Promoter to be dealt with as an unclaimed prize. The Promoter in its reasonable discretion shall determine any verification tests and procedures. ID that includes a photograph, proof of age, identity and residency may be required.
7. Draw and notification: The prize winners will be selected by random draw at 3:00pm on Monday 22 October, 2012 at Level 1, 490 Adelaide St, Brisbane 4000. The winners’ names will be published in the public notices section in the Participating Publications on Wednesday 24 October, 2012, or the next available day of publication following this date. All Contestants acknowledge that the Promoter has the right to publicise and publish his / her name, character and likeness. Contest winners must avail themselves for a photo if required by the Promoter and acknowledge that the Promoter has the right to utilise publicity photos in any reasonable manner it sees fit without compensation to the Contestants.
8. Redraw: In the event that the winner has not come forward by 2.30pm on Monday 5 November 2012, the Promoter may conduct such further random draws as are necessary on this date at 3.00pm at the same place as the original draw, to select a new winner. In the event of a redrawn winner, he/she will be contacted directly on the phone number(s) provided.
9. Prize collection: The prizes will be available from the relevant Participating Publication’s site office within 14 days of draw date. The winner must provide driver’s licence or photo ID to verify details. Upon request by the Promoter a copy of the general contest rules and/or a signed receipt and acknowledgement must be signed and endorsed by any winner to indicate his/her understanding and acceptance of these terms. It is the sole responsibility of the winner to claim their prize.
10. Misconduct by Contestants: The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Contestant who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Promotion. The Promoter reserves its legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender.
11. Termination/suspension: If for any reason the Promotion is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the Promoter’s control which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, Promoter is entitled in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and (subject to any written directions given by the various Lotteries Departments), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.
12. Promoter's limitation of liability: The Promoter is not responsible for the loss of prizes due to incorrect or imprecise delivery details provided by the Contestant. The Promoter also takes no responsibility for prizes lost or stolen after they have been released for delivery via postage or courier. By entering this Promotion, Contestants accept and acknowledge full responsibility for their decision to participate in any component of the prize should they be chosen as the winner. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality/suitability/ merchantability of any of the goods/services offered as prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained to any person and including, but not limited to consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter, or its servants or agents, in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services, by any person to the prize winner(s) and, where applicable, to any persons accompanying the winners, or in connection with the acceptance of, and participation in, a prize.
13. Entries and privacy: All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter and will also be supplied to The Nielsen Company. Entries will only be used for the purposes of this Promotion and for Nielsen to conduct surveys with Contestants on the Promoter’s behalf, unless Contestants tick the box at the time of entry stating that they wish to receive marketing material, in which case the Promoter may be in touch to let them know about goods, services or promotions that may be of interest to them. All responses to surveys are confidential and responses will be aggregated with those of other respondents. Individuals will not be identified at any time based on their survey responses. No personal information collected in this Promotion will be passed on to any other third parties.
