Hit TV series Winners & Losers sees four Melbourne-based best friends bound together by their shared experience of being "the losers" in high school. At 27, we see them back together as best friends winning the lottery and ditching the "loser" tag forever. Having spent all of her lotto money, Jenny struggles to admit to her family and friends that she is no longer rich. Frances questions her sexuality when her feelings for a female friend grows stronger, which gets thrown into turmoil when she learns that her crush has a terminal illness.

Sophie takes her re-entry exams and celebrates becoming a doctor again, but her plans to work in Kenya ground to a halt when Doug, her boyfriend, reveals his obligations to the baby come first.
