We are inviting all Australian primary school students to get involved by submitting an illustration and brief description of what makes Australia a special place it's a great way for students to explore our national identity and culture.
This is a unique opportunity for primary school students to participate in a fun and easy activity which celebrates the Australian spirit. Entering the competition doesn't require a lot of time or resources and it's as easy as 1-2-3.
1.Using the entry kit create an artwork on the Aussie Art template showing 'what makes Australia a special place to live' and in 25 words or less tell us about your artwork.
2.If your whole class is doing the competition hand it into your teacher with a parental consent form so that they can post it. Alternatively you can post your artwork and consent form to: Australia Day Council of NSW, GPO Box 5341, Sydney, NSW 2001.
3.Check the website in March to see who the winners are.
The competition opens on 30 October 2012 and closes on 18 February 2013. Finalists will be announced on australiaday.com.au on 25 February 2013 with the winners from the different divisions being announced on 8 March 2013.
All primary school children are encouraged to participate and their entries will be divided into divisions based on their year. By entering Aussie Art Competition students have the chance to win:
Overall winner: 9 Night Island Delights Cruise (P324) valued at $4,796 (Full Brochure Fare). Departing Sydney on Monday 8 July 2013 in an outside cabin for 4 people
Kindergarten-Year 2: The prize is $500 on a debit card.
Year 3-Year 4: The prize is $500 on a debit card.
Year 5 Year 6: The prize is $500 on a debit card.
