WITH more than half a century of performing experience behind them, Australia's favourite vocal harmony group the "fabulous" Delltones are performing two shows in the Hunter region this month.
Formed in 1958 by four Bronte lifesavers, the Delltones are fondly remembered for their early hits such as Get A Little Dirt on Your Hands and their full-blown revival in the 1980s which featured rock'n'roll classics such as Bop Til Ya Drop.
Lead vocalist Ian "Peewee" Wilson said the Delltones made music aimed for the heart and the feet.
The show is also to promote Peewee's book Come a Little Bit Closer: Harmony, Disorder and The Delltones.
The Delltones are performing at the Belmont 16s on Friday, August 9, and at Hexham Bowling Club on Saturday, August 10.
