From the holy land to the wide brown land, the Israeli Film Festival is happening again and it looks to be a pretty, pretty, pretty good way to occupy some free time.
Speaking of occupation, the festival covers that ground pretty well in documentaries like Good Garbage and Ameer Got His Gun and in films A Bottle in the Gaza Sea and Inch’Allah. There’s a lot more though, there’s Stephen Dorff as a downed fighter pilot bonding with a Palestinian boy and festival/award favourite, interviews with former heads of Israel’s internal security agency.
Whether you know your King David from your Larry David or your golem from your Gollum, missing out on this festival is sure to make a putz of anyone with an interest in films or the world at large.
