Denmark’s Crown Prince Couple, HRH Crown Prince Frederik and HRH Crown Princess Mary, are to visit Sydney as the Patrons of the Opera House’s 40th Anniversary program.
The Opera House’s 40th birthday celebrations will start on its official day, Sunday October 20, through to the following Monday, October 28.
The Opera House will celebrate the actual day with a cake and a song on October 20. From 10am,
the public are invited to come and sing happy birthday and share the cutting of the Opera House cake. Entry is free.
Also on October 20, the Opera House will hold an Open Door so that people can visit the main stages at the heart of the Opera House, the Concert Hall and the Joan Sutherland Theatre.
Between 9am and 1pm, members of the public will have the opportunity to wander the world-renowned Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre, which have played host to Australia and the world’s greatest artists and companies. Entry is free.
