Remember the 1987 film about a murdered policeman who is brought back to life as, you guessed it, half robot, half cop? Well our friends over at Sony are obviously fans of the modestly budgeted ($13million), well received original, and have decided to revamp it for the new generation of superhero fans, adding over $100 million more than the original film into the budget, along with a who’s who cast of superhero film veterans, including Samuel L Jackson (The Avengers), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Trilogy), Michael Keaton (The original Batman, Toy Story 3 – surely Ken counts as a superhero?), and Abbie Cornish (Suckerpunch), along with new face Joel Kinnaman as Robocop himself.
