Slave is based on the true story of a black man, Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), from upstate New York, who was abducted and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty (personified by a slave owner played by Michael Fassbender), Solomon struggles to survive, but a chance meeting with a Canadian abolitionist (Brad Pitt) alters his life.
