WHEN you change your clocks at the end of daylight savings on Sunday, April 6, the MFB, CFA and Duracell urge all Victorians to change their smoke alarm batteries as well.
Smoke alarms provide a vital early warning in the event of a fire, but only if they have a working long-life battery.
Fire authorities recommend using a long-lasting 9V alkaline battery in smoke alarms.
Leader has 20 Change Your Battery fun packs to give away. Each pack includes a Playdoh Fire Truck, a Nerf Super Soaker or Playskool Lullaby Gloworm, a fire extinguisher USB memory stick, Duracell batteries, a fire-fighter helmet, a fire safety board game, a smoke alarm, magnets and sC: Each pack is valued at $100.
Winners must collect their prize packs from Leader’s head office at 1 Chapel Street, Blackburn. Please do not enter this competition if you are unable to collect your prize (prize packs are too bulky to send via mail).Terms & Conditions

9.Winners must collect their prize packs from Leader’s head office at 1 Chapel Street, Blackburn by Friday, May 2, 2014 during office hours – 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
10.The competition opens at 12.10am on Monday, March 24, 2014 and closes at 5pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2014.
11.The winners will be drawn at Leader’s Blackburn office on Thursday, April 3, 2014.
12.One entry allowed per person. Leader Community Newspapers reserves the right to invalidate all multiple entries submitted by one person.
13.Leader Newspapers reserves the right to disqualify any person who attempts to corrupt or tamper with the entry process.
14.Entries must include the entrant’s full name, email address, postal address and daytime phone number to be valid.
