WIN: Family pass to Snow Time in the Gardens
Snow season is coming to the Hunter Valley Gardens this month.

Designated areas of Hunter Valley Gardens will transform into a winter wonderland snow zone from June 28 to July 13. Dubbed Snow Time in the Gardens the event is an exciting family day out and a chance for kids to try winter sports such as ice-skating and tobogganing.

The two-week program of winter events is jam-packed. There will be a snow ball challenge, winter-themed face painting, snow play zone where little ones can build a snowman, and even a mechanical snow board. Animal lovers can head to the Husky racing demonstrations to see how those resilient dogs pull such heavy loads at speed and in the snow. Learn how to train and run the dogs as well as skills in harnessing, directional training using voice commands and learn about racing in Australia. Staying on the animal theme, there will also be a different breed of cold climate dog on show every day.

Watch mini miners’ eyes grow wide with amazement at the inspirational ice sculpture displays. Kenji the sculptor uses a chainsaw to create the sculptures and has produced everything from penguins and moose, to bears and kangaroos. All activities are free, after the payment of the gardens entry fee. The ice-skating rink is limited to 200 people per session, simply go to the snow time ticket booth on the day to book a skating time.

Coalface has one family pass, for two adults and two children, valued at $90 to give away to one of our readers. To enter email your name and contact details to s.noud@coalfacemagazine.com.au by June 22. A winner will be drawn at random and contacted by phone.
