michaels E-Newsletter Covershot Competition is back again for June. The theme is "Winter". With the changing of the seasons comes a changing of the world around us. Frost and fog takes over as people wrap up to shield themselves from the wet and windy weather. Of course winter in other countries is often a different experience from Australia's - below freezing temperatures and snow become part of the daily routine. What we're looking for is your best images to convey the theme. Imagination and creativity will be rewarded - it does not have to be as obvious as a snowy peak!

Important: Please ensure your image files are named according to the conventions below. If they do not follow that convention, they will be excluded from consideration!

Entries will be judged not only on their technical accomplishment, but how they convey the theme. This broad theme is intended to allow as wide a range of images as possible.

    Send your entry via email to photocomp@michaels.com.au with "June Covershot Entry” as the subject.
    Attach up to THREE entries in JPG format. The JPG file name MUST include your FULL name and image title (if applicable) e.g:john_citizen_MACRO_BOKEH_KITTEN_SUNSET.jpg
    Include your contact details, photograph description and details such as shutter speed, ISO and aperture in the email.

Maximum of 3 entries per person

Terms & Conditions

    The michaels E-Newsletter Covershot Photo Competition is open to all Australian residents excluding michaels Camera Video & Digital staff members and immediate family and friends of michaels Camera Video & Digital staff members.
    All images must be submitted according to the instructions provided above. Submissions that do not include camera data, description of image, or entrant’s email address may not be eligible.
    Entries may originate on any photographic medium, including (but not limited) digital capture (compact cameras, SLRs, CSCs etc) and analogue capture (film, etc).
    All image submitted must be the fully original creative work of the entrant.
    Images must be submitted prior to midnight, 1st JULY 2014.
    Submitted images must be high resolution JPG files.
    Image file names must include entrant’s full name
    Images must not contain overtly graphic or explicit material which may offend.
    Each eligible participant may submit a maximum of THREE images for consideration, with one ONE being selected from the THREE by michaels Camera Video & Digital judges.
    Each entry will be judged by members of the michaels Camera Video & Digital sales and marketing teams, according to creativity, artistic merit and adherence to the brief.
    The winning entry will be selected and announced via email with a “Top 30” album uploaded to the official michaels Facebook page.
    All eligible participant accept, as part of their submission, registration to receive the Promoter’s monthly newsletter (unsubscribe option will be available with each communication).
    Images remain the property of the entrant. Entrants selected for the “Top 30” images consent to having their images posted to Facebook and/or other social media.
    Winning entrants accept use of their image in the relevant month’s newsletter.
    Submitted images are kept on file and may also be used for promotional uses by michaels Camera Video & Digital with the consent of the entrant.
    Prizes cannot be returned or exchanged by the receiver for any reason other than a product fault as assessed and determined by michaels Camera Video & Digital staff.
    michaels Camera Video & Digital reserves the right to change prizes offered for another item of equivalent value.
