THE SATURDAY PAPER ‘Win a indulgent Melbourne Weekend escape for two’ COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS.

THE COMPETITION

1.         The Saturday Paper ‘Win a indulgent Melbourne Weekend escape for two’ Competition is a game of skill.

2.         Information on how to enter the competition and details of the prize form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

THE PROMOTER

3.         The Promoter is The Saturday Paper Pty Ltd ATF The Liberty 2701 Trust, ABN 93 936 502 873, 37-39 Langridge St, Collingwood, VIC 3066.

4.         The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the competition and/or change any aspect of these Terms and Conditions without prior notice to any participant, if this is necessitated by unforeseen circumstances outside The Promoter’s reasonable control.

THE PRIZE

5.         The Prize is a two-night indulgent holiday in Melbourne for the Winner and a guest.

6.         The Prize includes:

a.         Return economy airfares for two from either Brisbane or Adelaide to Melbourne, Victoria departing Friday October 17, 2014 and returning October 19, 2014.

b.         Luxury accommodation at The Windsor Hotel in Melbourne, which includes:

i.          Two nights’ twin or double share accommodation in a Superior Room at The Windsor Hotel, checking in Friday October 17, 2014 and checking out Sunday October 19, 2014.

ii.         A Melbourne Affair Package: Breakfast for two, valet car parking and a bottle of sparking rose on arrival.

c.         A Melbourne Festival VIP Experience, which includes

i.          Two tickets to the opening night performance of a flagship Melbourne Festival event, plus two tickets to the post-event after party on Friday October 17, 2014.

d.         Dinner for two at Andrew McConnell’s restaurant Supernormal on Saturday October 18, 2014 to the value of $250.

7.         The Prize does not include:

a.         Travel insurance for the Winner or their guest

b.         Any additional hotel rooms and/or nights

c.         Transport to and/or from the Winner’s nearest Australian capital city airport or between Melbourne Airport and The Windsor Hotel

d.         Spending money

e.         Meals and drinks not included in point 6b and 6d above

f.          Any additional items not covered by points 6a, 6b, 6c and 6d above

8.         The Prize is not transferable, not exchangeable and is not redeemable for cash.

9.         All prize components are subject to booking and availability. In the event that any prize item becomes unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize item of equal or greater value.

10.       All prize components must be taken within the time periods specified in points 6a, 6b, 6c and 6d above and must be booked at least four weeks in advance. Instructions for how to redeem the prize will be provided to the Winner.

ELIGIBILTY

11.        Entries open at 9.30am (AEDST) Thursday 26 June 2014 and close at 5pm (AEDST) Sunday 31 August 2014. All entries must be received by the Promoter prior to 5pm (AEDST) Sunday 31 August 2014. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are late, incomplete, misdirected, lost or otherwise impeded.

12.      Entry is open to Australian residents only, living in either Queensland or South Australia.

13.       Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or above who purchase a Print and Digital subscription to The Saturday Paper within the competition period (see point 11). This includes Print and Digital subscriptions of any length.

14.       The Winner may choose one person aged 18 years and above to travel as their guest.

15.       Employees of the Promoter or any agencies involved with this competition and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

ENTRY

16.      To enter, Entrants must:

a.         Purchase a Print and Digital subscription to The Saturday Paper within the competition period

b.         Read and accept these Terms and Conditions

c.         Describe in 25 words or less their ideal Melbourne long weekend

i.          For subscriptions purchased via a subscription card, the entry must be written on the card.

ii.         For subscriptions purchased online, the entry must be entered into the specified field of the online form.

iii.        For subscriptions purchased over the phone, the entry must be emailed to promotions@thesaturdaypaper.com.au with a copy of the Entrant’s subscription purchase receipt attached.

17.       Entry is limited to one per person, even if a person has purchased multiple subscriptions.

18.       Any subscription purchased may only be claimed by one person for entry into the competition.

19.       All entries must be submitted at the time of subscription purchase, for purchases made over the phone entries must be received by the Promoter by 5pm (AEDST) on the day of purchase. No entries will be accepted for subscriptions purchased at an earlier date or time.

20.       All entries must be:

a.         The original creation of the Entrant

b.         Owned by the Entrant

c.         Free of any claims, including copyright or trademark claims by other parties.

21.       All entries must not:

a.         Have been published previously

b.         Have won prizes or awards in other competitions

c.         Be restricted in any way

d.         Infringe any third party rights

22.       The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and Entrants and to disqualify any Entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process.

SELECTION OF WINNER

23.       A Winner will be selected at 4.30pm (AEST) on Tuesday 2 September 2014 at the Promoter’s offices. The Winner will be the Entrant who has been judged to have provided the most original and creative response.

24.       Each entry will be judged individually. Chance plays no part in determining the Winner.

25.       The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who submits an entry which, in the opinion of the Promoter, includes objectionable content, including but not limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory images or language.

26.       Incomplete or indecipherable entries, or any entry with incorrectly entered personal information or contact details, will be deemed invalid.

27.       Any entry greater than 25 words will be deemed invalid.

28.       The decision of the judge/s is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

29.       The Winner will be notified via phone and/or email and will have their full name and suburb published in the 6 September 2014 edition of The Saturday Paper. If the Promoter receives no response from the Winner within 5 business days of the initial notification, the Prize will be forfeited and the judge/s will award the Prize to another Entrant.

30.       All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter.

31.       The Promoter reserves the right to use the content of winning and runners-up entries for the purpose of future promotions in any media worldwide.

CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL AND PRIZE ACCEPTANCE

32.       The Prize cannot be changed once the Promoter or their agents has confirmed the booking with the Winner.

33.       The Winner and their travelling companion must travel on dates specified and the same flights as each other to their destination and return.

34.       The components of the Prize must be taken together as a single trip to be booked by the Promoter or their agents, and cannot be separated into different holidays or travel elements.

35.       The Prize cannot be exchanged for other travel or accommodation at other destinations.

36.       Frequent flyer points will not form part of the Prize.

37.       In the event that for any reason the Winner does not take the Prize by the time stipulated, then the Prize will be forfeited by the Winner and cash will not be supplied in lieu of that element of the Prize.

38.       All travel suppliers, including the airline, will be chosen by the Promoter or their agents.

39.       The total prize package is valued at a maximum of $3108. Prize values are GST inclusive and are in Australian dollars. Prize values are the recommended retail value as provide by the supplier and are correct at time of publication. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value.

40.       If the Prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize for a prize of equal or greater value or reschedule the Prize, subject to State Regulation.

41.       Other than those specified in point 7, the Winner (and their guest) are responsible for all expenses, including travel to and from the departure point, petrol, spending money, meals (unless specified), beverages, transfers, laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, gratuities, services charges, travel insurance, incidental costs or any other costs of a personal nature not stated and all other ancillary costs.

42.       It is highly recommended that the Winner and their guest take out travel insurance to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

43.       A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the Winner at check-in to the hotel/s, for all incidental charges.

44.       It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the Prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.

45.       The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow the Winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that the Winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the Prize.

46.       The Promoter and associated agencies and companies shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

PRIVACY

47.       Contact details for the Winner, including but not limited to phone number and email address, may be shared with affiliated organisations supplying prize elements, to facilitate redemption of the Prize.

48.       Outside of those details supplied in point 47 above, no other personal information of any nature will be shared with any organisation, company or agency other than the Promoter

INTERFERENCE

49.      If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.

50.       The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.

51.       The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems.

LIABILITY, INDEMNITY AND RELEASE

52.       In consideration for the Promoter accepting the Entrant’s entry, the Entrant releases and forever discharges the Promoter from all claims that the Entrant may have or have had but for this release arising from or in connection with any Entrant’s participation in the promotion, the Winner’s acceptance and use of the Prize, and the Winner’s guest’s acceptance and use of the Prize.

53.       The Entrant indemnifies and hold harmless the Promoter to the extent permitted by law in respect of any claim by any person (including but not limited to other Entrants in the competition), arising as a result of or in connection with the Entrant’s participation in the promotion.

54.       In condition 52 “all claims” means and includes any action, suit, proceeding, claim, demand, damage, penalty, cost or expense however arising.

55.       These conditions constitute the entire agreement of the parties relating to the entry and the conduct of the competition. By participating, Entrants agree to be bound by these conditions.
