Open to all Professional, Amateur and Student Photographers, photographers who enter Shoot the Hairdresser Photographic Competition must collaborate with a Highlights for Hope registered salon or any Illawarra licensed hairdresser of their choice to create ideas for the subject.

Photos may include a well-known community subject, sports identity or politician with a quirky-novel hair do, ‘arty’ high fashion hair and makeup, or something far more creative than we can suggest.

Photographers must have a person/people in their photo and should reflect the hairdresser’s personality, lifestyle or feature the hairdresser's creative work.

Cash Prizes to be won:

    1st    $2000

    2nd   $500

    3rd    $300

Note: there is a $25 entry fee

Fifteen Finalists will be featured in the Illawarra Mercury Good Life Section of the paper over a five-week period from 1 September 2014.

All entries (subject to terms and conditions) will be featured in the Illawarra Mercury website gallery and on the Highlights for Hope Website and Facebook Page.

A Pop Up Exhibition in Wollongong Central will feature the works of the 15 finalists.
