Win 1 Double Pass to The Persian International Film Festival (Sydney only)Catch a film from one of the world’s most exciting and innovative film cultures.
Entering its third year, the Persian International Film Festival is returning to Sydney, with a selection of films from Iran and Afghanistan and the global Persian community. On offer this year is a feast of docos, shorts and features that pull back the curtain on an often misunderstood and highly complex part of the world – even more impressive for being made despite censorship.
Highlights this year include Manuscripts Don’t Burn, the new film from acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof, who defied the twenty-year work ban placed on him by his own country to craft this politically charged murder thriller based on real events; Parviz Shahbazi’s Trapped, which sees a young female medical student take a stand against corruption in order to free her flatmate; and Mohsen Gharaei and Afshin Hashemi’s spirited road adventure Don’t Be Tired!
