SCHÜTZENFEST 2015 POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION

DESIGN THE NEW POSTER FOR SCHÜTZENFEST 2015 AND WIN $1,000.

The South Australian German Association is excited to announce plans for a new reinvigorated Schützenfest in 2015. Set to be staged in Rymill Park over 3 days from Friday January 30, the 2015 Schützenfest will have a new location, new atmosphere & new image.

Adelaide’s famous German shooting festival & celebration of German culture is returning to its origins by bringing a ‘Traditional Vintage German Town Fair’ feel back to the event with a few creative modern twists.

The 2015 Schützenfest will be an event full of family fun during the day that turns into a party at night and will include more theatrical & interactive entertainment and a full program of children’s activities.

Past festivals have seen the attendance of over 25,000 people and the South Australian German Association hopes to welcome back previous guests as well as entice new attendees and introduce German culture to a whole new generation.

With this in mind the South Australian German Association is launching a Poster Competition to find the right design for Schutzenfest 2015.

The winning entry will be incorporated into the branding and marketing material for the 2015 Schützenfest. The winner will receive $1,000 and 4 free weekend passes to Schützenfest 2015.

Entries must be received by 5pm Friday August 29, and must be accompanied with a 2015 Poster Design Competition entry form that can be downloaded at here (PDF, 314 KB).

Design Brief

All design submissions must be made online and maybe in any medium and in any style. They maybe digital, graphic, painted, drawn or photographic.

The theme should represent the feel of ‘Traditional Vintage German Town Fair’ with some creative modern style event elements – an event full of family fun during the day that turns into a party at night. Aspects may include traditional Schützenfest elements such as Shooting, Pretzels, German Music, German Costumes, Sausages & Beer (although please note this is not a festival about Beer). However if you think you have a winning design that represents our new approach in a creative and different way then please feel free to submit – we are open to ideas!

The winning design must be suitable for reproduction from very large, down to very small. It will be incorporated into the 2015 Schützenfest poster, as well as across a range of material that may include signage, merchandise, programs, print and TV advertising, the Schützenfest website and other digital media.

Eligibility

There is no entry fee and both individuals and design firms/schools are invited to submit entries.
There is also no limit to how many entries you would like to submit.

Judging

Entries will be judged by the S.A German Association and the winner will be notified by Thursday 11 September 2014.

Entry Specifications

Your entry will need to demonstrate flexibility so that it can be used, in full or in part, in a variety of creative applications, i.e. t-shirts, website and on a range of printed material, such as program booklets & signage.

Submissions are to be made using the online entry form in PDF or jpg format only (max 6 MB).

The winner will be required to provide a layered Photoshop version with a minimum resolution of 300DPI at A1 size (594x841mm) or a scalable vector/EPS file - please keep this in mind when creating your submission.

The winning design will be used in conjunction with the 2015 Schützenfest logo. If you wish to demonstrate how this might work in your design download the logo here (PDF, 217 KB).

If you use any images you haven’t created yourself you must own the copyright for the images or have permission to use them in your design

How apt that I have been reading up on working for free or at a reduced rate - especially when applied to artists entering competitions. I will pass on this promotion and I live in South Australia.
