We have partnered with Ibis to make you an AU reviewer for a weekend at Stereosonic in Brisbane!




In furthering their "Paint It Red" campaign, which aims at taking full advantage of the many central locations these hotels offer, we have partnered with hotel brand Ibis to begin a music reviewer program which will give some lucky winners a shot at music writing for Brisbane's Stereosonic.

Winners will receive 2 tickets to the event and head along over the weekend to share their experience with us - to be published on our website.
All you have to do to enter is head to the Ibis Facebook Page, find the post about the event you want to enter for, and tell them in 100 words or less why you think you should win tickets.

IBIS MUSIC REVIEWER “THE PREATURES” PROMOTION 2014

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY


1. Information on how to enter, mechanics of entry and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed to be an acceptance of these Conditions of Entry. Entry is via Facebook only.

2. Entry is only open to residents of Australia aged 18 years or older whom, in the event they are a winner, are able to participate in the Prize as set out in Condition 11. The directors, management and employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, its related entities, suppliers, providers and agencies whom are directly associated with the conduct of this promotion are ineligible to enter the promotion.

3. The promotion starts at 17:00 (AEDST) on 10 November 2014 and ends at 23:59 (AEDST) on 28 November 2014 (Promotional Period). The best (1) entry will win the prize detailed in point 11. The best three (3) entries judged will be shortlisted as finalists and a representative from the AU Review will contact each to determine the final winner.

4. To enter this promotion, Entrants must, during the Promotional Period post on Facebook their answer to the following question “Love The Preatures? Their gig at Sydney's Hi-Fi is going to be a cracker – and together with The AU Review you have the chance to become a reviewer for the day and head along to the show with a mate! Tell us in 100 words or less about why YOU should get your hands on these tickets! The best answer (as judged by us) will become our very own reviewer for the show and have their review published on The AU Review's website!”

5. Only one (1) unique entry per person permitted. Any subsequent entry after the first valid entry of an Entrant is received will need to be unique from each other and not a duplicate entry otherwise it will be deemed invalid.

6. The decision by the Promoter to accept or reject an entry is in the Promoter’s sole discretion and no correspondence will be entered into. Any entry that contains content that the Promoter, in its sole discretion, considers to be offensive, obscene, crude or inappropriate in any way or that the Promoter considers may infringe any intellectual property rights or other rights of any person, corporation or entity will not be accepted as an eligible entry into the promotion. This includes, but is not limited, to any entry which the Promoter considers to be disparaging of any of its and/or any prize supplier’s products and/or services or is otherwise not in keeping with the spirit of the promotion.

7. Entrants acknowledge that Facebook membership, Facebook pages, the ‘liking’ of Facebook pages, Facebook applications and use of Facebook generally are subject to Facebook’s prevailing terms and conditions of use available at  www.facebook.com/policies. The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Entrants understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. To the extent permitted by law, each Entrant agrees to indemnify, defend and forever hold harmless, Facebook and its associated agencies and companies, against any and all losses, actions, claims, costs, expenses and damages (of any nature) which may be incurred by an Entrant in respect to the Entrant’s participation in the promotion. Any questions, comments or complaints about this promotion must be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook

8. Entries will be deemed accepted at the time of receipt of their post by the Promoter via Facebook and not at the time of transmission. Entries received will be considered final by the Promoter. Incomplete, inaccurate, erroneous, ineligible or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries.

9. Costs associated with accessing the Facebook to submit their entry remain an Entrant’s responsibility and may vary depending on the Internet service provider used.

10. The use of any automated entry software or any mechanical, electronic or other means that allows an Entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that Entrant invalid.

11. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges at 2pm (AEDST) on Monday 1 December  2014. The best judged three (3) entries, will be shortlisted as finalists.  Judging will take place at ibis Hotels head office at Level 30, 123 Pitt Street, Sydney, NSW 2000. The three (3) finalists will then be contacted by a representative judge from AU Review and asked  a number of questions to determine the final winner.  This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner. All eligible entries will be judged on a basis of originality and creative merit and most passionate answers in line with the standards of music reviewer.  All reasonable steps to notify the winner of the results of the judging will be taken by the Promoter. Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Winners name will also be posted on the ibis Facebook page., visible to Australian residents only, The entrant acknowledges that their personal information and entry will be shared with the AU Review for the sole purpose of entry judging. 

12. The best judged entry will be awarded two (2) tickets to attend the Preatchers gig at the Hi-Fi Sydney on Friday 5 December 2014, valued at $40.50 each and their written review of their experience submitted to the AU Review will be posted on the AU Review website. In the event that the prizewinner would like to take a minor, being under 18 years of age, the prizewinner must be the legal guardian of the minor.

13. Entrants who are awarded  the major prize must confirm their eligibility to be awarded the prize and ability to take the prize within two (2) days of being successfully notified by the Promoter that they have been awarded the prize. Otherwise the entry will be deemed invalid.  The prize must be taken on the dates nominated by the

Promoter to coincide with the ticket dates.  The Entrant awarded the prize must also confirm their eligibility to write a review on their experience to be submitted for inclusion on the AU Review website. No extension or variation of the prize dates nominated by the Promoter is permitted. All components of a prize must be taken together and when offered or are forfeited. Any element of a prize not taken will be deemed to be forfeited. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for the cancellation, rescheduling, change or delay of an event or any part of the event for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter. Should the entrant not submit a written review to ibis Hotels and AU Review within 5 working days from the date of the event, they will be required to refund ibis Hotels with the full cost of the tickets they were awarded as part of this prize.

14. All additional costs not expressly stated, but which may be incurred in acceptance and use of a prize, are the responsibility of the winner and their companion (if any). Such additional costs include, but are not limited to, meals, beverages not covered by event, transport to and from the venue.

15. A winner and their companion (if any) must conduct themselves in a professional, courteous and friendly manner at all times whilst attending the event.  The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify, sanction and/or remove a winner and/or their companion (if any) from a venue on the grounds of inappropriate behaviour, for age, health or safety reasons, or for any breach of these Conditions of Entry in general. If a winner and/or their companion (if any) is unable to use any element of a prize as stated for whatever reason, including refusal of entry or ejection from a venue or failure to participate in a prize in the manner required, as stated in this condition and in the reasonable opinion of the Promoter, their entry and the balance of the prize will be forfeited with no compensation payable.

16. Total maximum prize pool value is up to AUD $81.00. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. All prize values are the recommended retail price including GST, depending on point of departure.

17. The Promoter may award a prize to the next judged best entry for the prize that was not awarded one (1) day after judging in order to award a prizeif unclaimed by that date. All reasonable steps to notify any unclaimed prize winner of the results of the judging will be taken by the Promoter.

18. Entrants can only enter in their own name. Entrants who provide incorrect, misleading or fraudulent information are ineligible to participate in the promotion. All entries of an Entrant who is deemed by the Promoter to have provided incorrect, misleading or fraudulent information may, at the discretion of the Promoter, be deemed invalid. The Promoter reserves the right to request the Entrant to produce (within the requested time) appropriate photo identification or other documentation (to the Promoter’s satisfaction, at its sole discretion) in order to confirm the Entrant’s identity, age, residential address for eligibility to enter and claim a prize, and any information submitted by the Entrant in entering the promotion, before issuing a prize. If the documentation required by the Promoter is not received by the Promoter (or its nominated agent) or an Entrant or entry has not been verified or validated to the Promoter’s satisfaction then all the entries of that Entrant will be ineligible and deemed invalid.

19. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner and their companion (if any) may be required to sign a legal release or releases in a form determined by the Promoter at its absolute discretion.

20. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of any and all entries and reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant for:

(a) tampering with the entry process;

(b) submitting an entry which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry; or

(c) if the Entrant is engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved. A prize will only be awarded following any winner validation and verification that the Promoter requires at its sole discretion.

21. Any attempt, deliberate or otherwise, to cause malicious damage or interference with the normal functioning of the Promotional Website or the information on the Promotional Website, or to otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion may be a violation of criminal and 8 civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, whether successful or not, the Promoter reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. If the Promoter suffers loss or incurs any costs in connection with any breach of these Conditions of Entry or any other legal obligation by an Entrant, the Entrant agrees to indemnify the Promoter for those losses, damages and costs.

22. If a prize or element of a prize becomes unavailable, for any reason beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, then a comparable prize or prize element of equal or greater value will be awarded in lieu.

23. If this promotion is not capable of running as planned for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster (including natural disaster), infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, technical failures or anything which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion and/or, if necessary, to provide an alternative prize or prizes to the same value as an original prize or prizes.

24. The Promoter, its associated agencies and companies excludes all liability (including negligence) except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, for any direct or indirect injury, loss and/or damage arising in any way out of the promotion. This includes, but is not limited to: (i) technical malfunctions, delays or failures, including those resulting from accessing any materials related to this promotion and any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of, or in connection with, this promotion as a result of any technical malfunctions, delays or failures; (ii) theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (iii) lost or damaged entries, prize claims or prizes; and/or (iv) acceptance and/or use of any prize. 

25. As a condition of entering this promotion, an Entrant consents to, in the event they are a winner, the Promoter using the Entrant’s entry, name, likeness, image, voice and/or participation in a prize (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period of time without further notification, remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing the promotion (including any outcome), and/or promoting any products or services manufactured, distributed  and/or supplied by the Promoter. The Entrant agrees that, in the event they are a winner, the Entrant will participate in all reasonable promoted activities in relation to the promotion as requested by the Promoter and its agents. 23. If the personal information requested is not provided, the Entrant cannot participate in the promotion and is deemed ineligible. An Entrant also agrees that the Promoter may, in the event the Entrant is a winner, publish or cause to be published the winner’s name and locality in any media. An Entrant can gain access to, update or correct any personal information held by the Promoter by contacting the Promoter’s Privacy Officer at: ACCOR, Level 30, 123 Pitt Street, Sydney NSW 2000. All personal information will be stored at the office of the Promoter or its agencies. A copy of the Promoter’s Privacy Policy in relation to the treatment of personal information collected may be obtained by contacting the Promoter.

26. By participating in the promotion, an Entrant also acknowledges that a further primary purpose for collection of the Entrant’s personal information by the Promoter is to enable the Promoter to use the information to assist the Promoter in improving goods and services and to contact the Entrant in the future with information on special offers or to provide the Entrant with marketing materials via any medium including mail, telephone and commercial electronic messages (SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Message Service), IM (Instant Messaging) and email) or any other form of electronic, emerging, digital or conventional communications channel whether existing now or in the future. The Promoter may share information with its related companies who may contact the Entrant with special offers in the same way as the Promoter where the Entrant has opted in to receive information from the Promoter’s related companies or Promotional Partners. By entering the promotion, an Entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Promoter may use the Entrant’s personal information in the manner set out in this condition.

27. Each participant represents and warrants that all materials, documents and forms submitted or created by him or her in connection with the Contest do not infringe on the rights of any party, including but not limited to intellectual property rights any patent, trademark or brand name registered or enforceable anywhere in the world. Such participant shall indemnify Ibis Hotels and its affiliates against any claims, liability damages, costs and expenses incurred by Ibis Hotels and its affiliates arising out of or in connection with any such infringement, and shall at the request of Ibis Hotels, defend any action brought about against Ibis Hotels and its affiliates for any such claim for liability and/or damages.
