La Binoche and Jaime Lannister play a married couple in this gripping drama


Rebecca (Juliette Binoche) is one of the world’s top war photographers. On assignment while photographing a female suicide bomber group in Kabul, she gets too near and is badly hurt in an explosion. Back home, another bomb drops. Her husband (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and daughters can no longer bear the thought of her dying on assignment. She is given an ultimatum: her work or her family. The choice seems obvious...

 

This tense but beautiful film was inspired by director, Erik Poppe’s own experiences as a war photographer in the 1980s. It’s a powerful drama, expectedly beautifully shot, about the choices that we make, and also the choices that are made for us.
