Drive up that charming tree-lined driveway near Orange and you'll pop out at Stockman's Ridge cellar door to a warm welcome from Jonathan Hambrook and his family. Surrounded by gardens, it's a very peaceful spot for relaxing with a tasting of some of their award-winning wines. Sounds very pleasant doesn't it!
To give you some enticement to visit, we have four half cases of Stockman's Ridge wine to be won!
So, you've arrived at the cellar door – what next? Take a seat in the garden (we love the wine barrel seats!) or in the cellar door and let Jonathan or his family guide you through a leisurely tasting of their wines, imparting some interesting facts and tales along the way. You'll soon pick up on just how passionate and committed they are to producing cool climate wines of the highest quality.
But there's more to this cellar door than the wine, delicious as it is. Sustainable living is not just a philosophy to this family, it's simply a way of life so don't be surprised to be sharing produce from sheep, pigs, cows and the abundant vegie garden (there's an old goat too but we're not sure if he's productive or just for looks!).
Time your visit right and you can PYO cherries too! Mmm, sounds like a perfect day – pick some glorious cherries then sit amongst the sheltered gardens and enjoy a glass of your favourite Stockman's wine as a reward!
With its views across the valley, shady trees and gardens brimming with greenery, it's also a dream setting for that special event – happy birthday to you.. you may kiss the bride...I'd like to announce....
