ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Australian Rotary Health was established in 1981 and has provided over $31 million in funding for health research in Australia. Why research? Because we’re committed to supporting health for all Australians, present and future. Most of the advances of modern medicine have improved or saved countless lives. These advances couldn’t have been made without the help of medical researchers.
The funds we provide are vital in supporting the research that seeks to cure or prevent ill health in your community. Australian Rotary Health believes in supporting a healthy future for all Australians.
With the background in helping to create a healthier Australia it is fitting to have the theme for Australian Rotary Health’s Photography Competition this year is:

The promotion commences at 12.01 am (AEDT) on Australia Day – 26th January, 2015 and closes at midnight (AEDT) on ANZAC Day 25th April, 2015 (Promotion Period). Only entries that are received during that time will be eligible for entry.
Photos must be owned by the entrant and will be displayed on the Australian Rotary Health Photo Competition Facebook page, Australian Rotary Health website and in any other format that Australian Rotary Health sees fit. Winners will be announced on 15th May, 2015 and will be notified by phone or email. By submitting your photo/s you are agreeing to the full Terms and Conditions.
While the Eligible Entrant retains the copyright of all images submitted as competition entries, the Eligible Entrant grants Australian Rotary Health the right to unlimited world-wide use of the photos for organisation brochures, promotion and advertising relating to products or services from Australian Rotary Health and other providers, including without limitation the publication of any winning photograph in any form.
Note: The entrant still retains ownerships of copyright, albeit with the grant of a broad license to Australian Rotary Health to use the photos.
By entering the competition, the Eligible Entrant confirms that all persons appearing in the photograph have consented to the Eligible Entrant submitting the photo as part of this competition, including to Australian Rotary Health’s right to use the photograph in accordance with clause 5 of the Terms and Conditions. With a maximum of 3 photos to be submitted with Registration Forms.
Terms & Conditions
By entering your image/s into Australian Rotary Health’s Photography Competition, you agree to the following conditions:
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry or acceptance of a prize is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. The promoter is Australian Rotary Health (ABN 52 006 119 964) of Level 2, 43 Hunter Street, Parramatta NSW 2150 (Promoter).
ELIGIBILITY
3. Entry is open to Australian residents aged 13 years or older (Eligible Entrants) excluding directors, management, employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter.
4. The promotion commences at 12.01 am (AEDT) on Australia Day – 26th January, 2015 and closes at midnight (AEDT) on ANZAC Day 25th April, 2015 (Promotion Period). Only entries that are received during that time will be eligible for entry.
COMPETITION ENTRY
5. To enter, Eligible Entrants must, during the Promotion Period:
a. Take a photograph representing the theme: ‘HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF OUR COMMUNITY’, and
b. Submit photographs to
photocomp@australianrotaryhealth.org.au• No images supplied in hard copy will be accepted; only digital files will be accepted.
• Photos that have been previously entered into Australian Rotary Health competition will be ineligible to win.
• All entry details including name, address, email address, phone number, date of birth, photo description and location must be completed on the Registration Form.
• Consent from people photographed must be secured and Consent Form should be signed.
• Images must be no larger than 5MB, and in PNG or JPG format.
• Images must a single image. No collages or images containing multiple images will be accepted.
• While the Eligible Entrant retains the copyright of all images submitted as competition entries, the Eligible Entrant grants Australian Rotary Health the right to unlimited world-wide use of the photos for organisation brochures, promotion and advertising relating to products or services from Australian Rotary Health and other providers, including without limitation agreeing to the publication of any winning photograph in any form. Note: the entrant still retains ownerships of copyright, albeit with the grant of a broad license to Australian Rotary Health to use the photos.
• By entering the competition, the Eligible Entrant confirms that all persons appearing in the photograph have consented to the Eligible Entrant submitting the photo as part of this competition, including to Australian Rotary Health’s right to use the photograph in accordance with clause 5.
• If for any reason Australian Rotary Health is unable to publish or otherwise use a photo submitted as part of this competition, that entry will be excluded and the entrant is not eligible to be awarded a prize.
• Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entries will be deemed invalid and will be rejected.
• Employees of Australian Rotary Health, the competition’s sponsors and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry where it reasonably suspects that such materials are prohibited by these terms and conditions, any relevant law, or are otherwise deemed inappropriate. This is at the Promoter’s absolute discretion and discussions will not be entered into. Images that are considered unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, contain objectionable content or are otherwise inappropriate will not be deemed valid and rejected.
6. There will be two competition categories: ‘Youth’ and ‘Adult’. ‘Youth’ may be entered by anyone aged 13 to 17, with the permission of their parent or guardian. ‘Adult’ may be entered by anyone over the age of 18.
7. There is a limit of three entries per person (totalling three photos) and each person may only enter one category, regardless of whether they submit one, two or three photos.
8. The Promoter reserves the right to request that the winner provides proof of identity, age, and proof of residency as a condition of receipt of the prize. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any Eligible Entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry that is not (in the reasonable opinion of the Promoter) in accordance with these terms and conditions.
9. The Promoter is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries.
HOW TO WIN
10. The winners will be those entries judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Promoter to be the most creative and/or original from the entries received. The top ten entrants from each category, as determined Australian Rotary Health, The three best entries from each category, as determined by the panel of judges, will be winners. The shortlisted entries from each category will also be winners. The competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner.
11. Winners will be notified by email or phone within 2 days of the judging date.
12. The judges’ decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
13. Incomprehensible or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
14. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winners must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize.

15. There are 6 major prizes as follows:
a) First prize for each category: ipad Mini, Wifi 16GB Sponsored by Roentec Pty Ltd & C Double Dee Marketing (rrp $300)
b) Second prize for each category: Orbis Explorer 200 Camera Bag, Flexipod DSL Camera Tripod and a Deluxe Camera Cleaning Kit (rrp $150)
c) Third prize for each category: 8″ Digital Photo Frame (rrp $95)
All Major Prizes will receive :
1 years subscription of Australian Photography+Digital Magazine sponsored by Australian Photography+Digital
16. There will be 12 minor prizes as follows:
a) Top 6 entries from ‘Youth’ category will receive their photo printed on canvas, at a size determined by the Promoter. Sponsored by SmallBusiness Essentials.
b) Top 6 entries from the ‘Adult’ category will receive their photo printed on canvas, at a size determined by the Promoter. Sponsored by SmallBusiness Essentials.
17. There will be 1 ‘People’s Choice’ prize, awarded to the image with the most likes on Facebook as follows:
a) 8″ Digital Photo Frame, Premium Professional Camera Bag, Digital Camera Tripod and a Deluxe Camera Cleaning Kit Sponsored by Roentec Pty Ltd & C Double Dee Marketing (rrp $200)
18. The Australian Rotary Health intends to publish the winning photographs and/or other entries in various publications and promotional material, including a media release announcing the winners. Australian Rotary Health intends to upload entries to the Australian Rotary Health’s Facebook page, Australian Rotary Health and

19. Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services. A prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter.
20. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations and the Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend this promotion.
21. The Promoter, its related bodies, and their respective officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
22. The Australian Rotary Health collects personal information about entrants for the purpose of running this competition. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. Eligible Entrants consent to the Promoter using personal information provided in connection with this promotion for the purposes of facilitating the conduct of the promotion and awarding any prizes. Without limiting the foregoing Eligible Entrants’ personal information provided in connection with this promotion will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Statement, a copy of which is available at

23. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or any other social media platform. You are providing your information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. The information you provide will only be used in accordance with these terms and conditions. All entrants release any action or claim they may have against Facebook arising out of the competition or these terms and conditions.
