ONE of the nation's most revered rock-tribute shows will take Raymond Terrace Bowling Club by storm next month.

On Saturday, August 22, the club hosts the Acca/Dacca show.

The Acca/Dacca show, which has been making the rounds for 15 years, is a full production, not just a tribute to AC/DC.

It involves a 60-can lighting rig, 25,000 watts of sound, plus all the canons, bells and whistles expected from a true AC/DC show.

Band members look, act and sound like their AC/DC counterparts as they perform all the hits including Dirty Deeds, T.N.T, Highway to Hell, The Jack, Rosie and Let There Be Rock.

Acca/Dacca was formed in Brisbane in 2000 by Larry Attard who takes on the personas of the lead men from AC/DC - Bon Scott and Brian Johnson.

Attard said he grew up with AC/DC's music and had a "great deal of admiration" for the Aussie group.

As it turned out, Attard's voice was similar to Scott's and he belts out the late great frontman's material with ease then easily transitions into Johnson for the later AC/DC songs.

James McEntyre takes on the schoolboy guise of Angus Young and Mick Bristow produces the hard-hitting, heavy-guitar sound Malcolm Young was known for. Stavros Tsolakides, on bass, is Cliff Williams and Danny Curtis, drums, is Phil Rudd.

Tickets, available from the club or by phoning 4987 2404, cost $30.

The show kicks off at 8.30pm.

The Examiner has two double passes to give away to the Raymond Terrace show. To win, send your name and contact details in an email titled "AC/DC" to ewatts@fairfaxmedia.com.au. Winners will be notified by 5pm on Wednesday, August 12.
