The competition commences on 2 July 2015 at 9:00am (AEST) and concludes on 13 August 2015 at 3:00pm (AEST). Entry is open to all persons over the age of 18 years. Only one entry per person is permitted.
To enter the competition you must:
(i) Go to the competition website, www.Queensland.com/greatbarrierreef.
(ii) Watch the 60 second video on the Great Barrier Reef and answer multiple choice
questions. Only correct answers will be eligible for the prize draw.
(iii) Enter your full name, email address and country of residence.
Entrants will be entered into a random draw to win one major prize of a Flight Centre travel voucher valued at AUD$10,000. The voucher may be used for booking return travel to and within Queensland, including a trip to the Great Barrier Reef.The winner will be selected by a random electronic draw. The drawing of the prize will be conducted at XCom Media, Unit 1, 15 Lamington Street, New Farm, Brisbane on Monday, 17th August 2015 at 11.00am (AEST). The prize winner will be notified by email. The name of the prize winner will be published on the website,
www.queensland.com/competitions once confirmed.
Employees and Directors of Tourism and Events Queensland, or agencies associated with the competition, and their immediate families, are ineligible to enter the competition.
Tourism and Events Queensland reserves the right in its absolute discretion to disqualify:
(i) any entries that tamper with, or attempt to tamper with the entry process;
(ii) any entries that Tourism and Events Queensland considers manipulative, unrepresentative,
or disproportionate;
(iii) any individuals found entering who corrupt or affect, or attempt to corrupt or affect, the
administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the entry process.
The voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Voucher terms and conditions apply.
The voucher is not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash. If the voucher is not claimed within two weeks of the draw, a redraw will take place.
Any costs relating to alterations to confirmed details, where applicable, will be at the expense of the prize winner. This includes but is not limited to changing dates of flights.
Travel insurance is not provided and Tourism and Events Queensland recommends the prize winner and all travel companions obtain comprehensive travel insurance including medical coverage (at their own expense) prior to travel.
Entrants from outside Australia must be eligible for a short term tourist visa to Australia. For visa information visit
www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist. The prize winner and travel companions must arrange and pay for their own tourist visa to Australia prior to travel. Tourism and Events Queensland will not be held responsible for any visas that are not approved prior to the trave date resulting in inability to travel. Ineligibility to obtain a visa results in cancellation of the prize and re-draw.
Tourism and Events Queensland shall be entitled to cancel the holiday prize and itinerary without notice should the prize winner or their travel companions engage in any inappropriate, illegal or immoral behaviour, use excessive alcohol, artificial stimulants or illegal drugs, or act in any manner which brings Tourism and Events Queensland or any person or organisation involved in the promotion into public disrepute.
Each entrant releases and indemnifies Tourism and Events Queensland against all liability (including tax liability), cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of the prize or participation in the promotion including (but not limited to) personal injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
By accepting the prize, the winner and the winner’s travel companions agree that Tourism and Events Queensland may use their name and likeness for its promotional and publicity purposes.
Tourism and Events Queensland’s decision concerning any aspect of this competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into. In the event of a dispute, the English version of these Terms and Conditions will prevail.
