TERMS & CONDITIONS STAEDTLER YEN ART AWARD 2016
1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Registration for and/or participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry. Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions is a condition of entry.
2. Entry to this competition commences at 9am 3 December, 2015 and closes at 5pm on 20 May, 2016 AEST.
3. Entry to this competition is open to Australian residents who are female and aged between 18 and 35 years old on 20 May, 2016
AEST. Employees, suppliers, agencies and partners associated with
this promotion (and their immediate friends and family) are ineligible to enter. Artists who have previously exhibited at Gaffa are eligible to enter this competition.
4. To enter the competition entrants must visit the Yen Magazine website, register as an entrant, upload an image of their artwork, fill
in the entry form online and submit it to the STAEDTLER Yen Female Art Awards presented by Gaffa.
5. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse any entry which is inadequately prepared for display. Artwork must meet the following specifications:
(i) The uploaded image should be 300dpi jpeg format, and must not exceed 4MB file size.
(ii) All entries must be original work of the exhibitor.
(iii) The uploaded image can be a 2d or 3d artwork in any medium excluding photography.
(iv) Only one entry per person is permitted.
(v) Artworks consisting of multiple pieces may qualify as single entries, as long as these strictly meet size restrictions, and photographs of the work as a whole are submitted.
(vi) Hanging works not to exceed 2m2 in area, in any dimension.
(vii) Works consisting of two or more parts may be considered, but must fall within this size restriction. This size includes frame.
(viii) A maximum weight restriction of 10kg will be placed on hanging art works.
(ix) All painting must be dry, framed or professionally presented, wired and ready for hanging with no projections on the canvas that could cause damage to other works. Frames or hanging devices requiring repair work will be rejected.
6. Entrants must own copyright of the uploaded image.
7. The promoter reserves the right to vet all entry images prior to them going live on the website and reserves the right to remove any entries at any time in their absolute discretion. The promoter is not responsible for any entry images uploaded to the site and visitors to the site view it at their own risk.
8. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity
of entries and entrants. Without limitation, entrants agree to provide identification to the Promoter upon request. The Promoter’s decision in relation to all aspects of the promotion is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Judging and Finalist Selection
Finalists will be selected by the Judges of this competition. All entries will be viewed and selected by the Judges online. Judging will take place between 23 - 25 May, 2016.
This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each individual entry will be judged by the Judging Panel. The Judges are seeking creative and innovative works that demonstrate the artist’s skill and imagination. No further correspondence will be entered into. The Judging Panel consists of:

Only 20 selected finalists and the people’s choice will be listed on
Yen Magazine’s yenmag.net website from 27 May, 2016 and will be contacted by phone or email. Please do not contact Yen Magazine to see if your artwork has been selected.
Gaffa will host a group exhibition of finalists’ artwork from Thursday 23 June – 4 July, 2016. Please see delivery terms and conditions below. If, for any reason, a finalist is not able to deliver their artwork for the finalists’ exhibition at the Gaffa Gallery, then the Promoter may at its discretion:
(i) Disqualify the finalist (who will then forfeit all their prizes) and/or (ii) Use only the other finalists in the finalists exhibition and/or
(iii) Select another entrant as an additional finalist
Finalists must confirm with Yen that they have received notification
of their inclusion within one week of the finalists’ selection on 27 May, 2016, or another finalist will be chosen in their stead. If an entrant’s artwork is not on the selection list then it has not been selected.
All entrants consent to the use of their name and their artwork for
the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this competition including any outcome. The work selected by the Judges is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision. In the event of a dispute regarding the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions of Entry, the decision of the Judges will be final.
