ONE OF Ireland’s most successful duos – Foster and Allen – are set to return to Australian shores in 2016 to celebrate 40 years of making music together.
Mick Foster and Tony Allen will bring their 40th anniversary tour to Wests New Lambton on Friday, May 27.

Foster and Allen formed in 1975 and began working on the music circuits of Ireland and England.
Soon, with their own special brand of music, the duo became hugely popular. The charismatic singers’ unique blend of easy listening and folk music proved to be a hit with audiences.
In the first year, Foster and Allen recorded their first single, The Rambles of Spring. The single proved to be a massive hit on both sides of the Irish Sea and was the main song from their first album, titled the same.
The Rambles of Spring album was the first of 24 the pair have released in the past 40 years. Other popular albums the pair have created include A Bunch of Thyme, Maggie and After All These Years.
They have just finished their latest album, in time for the anniversary celebrations.
Foster and Allen have grown to become the most famous singing duos in Irish music history. Between them they have sold 18 million records, making them one of Ireland’s biggest entertainment exports, in the same league as U2, Enya, Boyzone and The Corrs.
Foster and Allen have visited Australian 19 times in the past 40 years. Their anniversary tour will make it 20.
