Here’s a great opportunity to enter our new photo competition depicting any aspect of Jewish life in Australia and win some great prizes.
The competition is to coincide with the visit to Australia of three Israeli professional photographers from the Arava region who will be exhibiting their work at the Arava In Focus exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney during June.
You can enter the competition by submitting your entry depicting any aspect of Jewish life in Australia. The photo can be taken anytime since July 1, 2015 and there is a limit of three entries per person.
The competition is only open to Australian residents and will run from May 12 until midnight on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
The Israeli photographers are Gilad Livni, Alex Levac and Danny Hadas and will be in Australia for the exhibition, and will judge the final entries.
The best entry will win a Canon EOS 700D DSLR camera with an 18-55mm lens and a 55-250mm lens valued at $859, compliments of Kogan.com; a mounted print by one the Arava photographers; and $500 worth of hire vouchers from Michaels, a leading photographic, video and digital camera specialist that has been trading from the same location in the Melbourne CBD since 1916.
Second and third prizes will be mounted prints by Arava photographers.
A selection of the best entries will go on display at the Arava In Focus exhibition in Melbourne where members of the public who attend will also have the opportunity of voting for their favourite photo and winning $500 worth of hire vouchers from Michaels.
While in Australia the Israeli photographers will meet with local artists, visit galleries, hold workshops and, of course, take photos of the Jewish community.
Entries should be emailed to
travel@jewishnews.net.au including the photographer’s name, the subject matter and the date and place where the photo was taken.

Employees of The Australian Jewish News and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.
Competition entries close on midnight on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
