Terms and Conditions
1. By subscribing to The West Australian during the competition period, you are agreeing to the
following terms and conditions.
2. Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within the promotional
advertisements and point of sale materials form part of these terms and conditions. By
participating in this competition entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3. The Promoter is West Australian Newspapers Ltd (ABN 98 008 667 632) of 50 Hasler Road, Osborne
Park WA 6017.
Who Can Enter
4. The competition is open to all residents of Western Australia aged 18 years or older. Employees of
the Promoters, their subsidiaries, their advertising agencies, participating newsagents & resellers of
The West Australian and The Weekend West newspapers, and their immediate families are
ineligible to enter. Immediate family includes any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto
spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent,
step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin
or sibling living under the same roof.
Competition Period
5. The competition commences on Monday 1 August 2016 and concludes on Monday 15 August 2016.
How to Enter
6. To enter the competition you must start any subscription package to The West Australian between
1 and 15 August 2016.
7. Strictly only one entry per person.
8. Prize will be drawn from all new subscriptions made within the competition period.
Prize
9. The prize consists of a pair of tickets to watch a tribute to Roy Orbison & The Everly Brothers, a Ben
Maiorana production, at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, The Riverside Theatre, Perth
on Saturday 27th August 2016. Each prize of a pair of tickets is valued at $160.
10.The prize winners will require collection from West Australian Newspapers located at 50 Hasler
Road, Osborne Park. If the winner wishes for the prize to be sent via post, the Promoters take no
responsibility for lost, stolen or misdirected prizes.
11.Prize is at prize provider’s discretion. Subject to availability.
12.The prize cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
13.If the prize is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize
with a prize of equal value and/or specification.
14.In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right to
cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion or suspend of modify the prize, subject to any
written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
15.Prize is subject to participating provider’s terms and conditions.
Draw
16.All 10 winners will be drawn at random on Tuesday 16 August 2016.
17.All winners will be notified within one (1) week of the draw either by telephone or email.
18.The winner’s draw will take place at Newspaper House offices. The winner will be drawn randomly
from all valid entries.
19.The winner will be notified by email or phone. In the instance that the winner cannot be contacted
on the phone number or email address provided 2 weeks after the draw date, the prize will be
forfeited. A new winner will not be drawn.
Privacy
20.You consent to the use by West Australian Newspapers Limited and related corporations (as
defined by the Corporations Act 2001) of Your details and acknowledge that West Australian
Newspapers and related corporations, may, at their discretion disclose and use those details for the
purpose of providing goods or services, communicating with subscribers, planning, research,
product and business development and sales, the promotion and marketing (whether targeted,
direct or indirect) of their businesses, services or products or those of a third party which it believes
may be of benefit to them. The details will also be used to investigate complaints, as required or
permitted by any law, to enable West Australian Newspapers and related corporations to perform
its obligations under this or any other agreement and to ensure that a subscriber performs their
obligations under this or any other agreement.
21.If an entrant does not want their details to be used for the purposes stated in Clause 16. please

D162 Perth WA 6840 and West Australian Newspapers Limited will ensure that the details are not
used for that purpose.
22.To access personal information kept by West Australian Newspapers please contact Customer
Services Team on 1800 811 855. Please note that information will only be provided to the person
detailed and current photographic identification may be required prior to the release of any
personal information.

24.It is a condition of entry that all prize winners agree to have their name, photo and suburb
published for publicity purposes if required. By participating in this competition, participants signify
their acceptance of all conditions and the requirement to participate in promotional activity if
required.
General
25.The Promoters’ decision on all matters related to this competition is final and cannot be contested.
No correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right to limit entry or amend
rules if considered necessary without notice.
26.Any costs of using and accessing the Website via a mobile phone, tablet or other devices will be
dependent on the entrant’s individual mobile and internet service provider. The Promoter is not
responsible for any costs associated with any mobile, telephony, internet access and usage. The
Promoter is not responsible for any other costs associated or incurred as a result of the entrant’s
entry into the Competition.
27.Any person caught tampering with the website, entry mechanic or any electronic element related
to the promotion will be automatically disqualified and could result in legal action.
28.The Promoter is not responsible for any data or other information related to this program that may
be lost, damaged as a result of any computer software or hardware malfunction. Any issues
occurring as a result of computer problems will be rectified as quickly as possible.
29.All entrants release from, and indemnify the Promoters against, all liability, cost, loss or expense
arising out of acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in the competition including (but not
limited to) loss of income, personal injury and damage to property and whether direct or
consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
30.The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who the promoter believes has
breached any of these terms and conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper
misconduct. The promoter has legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an
offender.
31.The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize
winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought by the winners.
32.The Promoter may, subject to State Regulations, terminate this competition at any time at its
absolute discretion without liability to any contestant or other person.
33.On completion of the prize draw, all entries will be stored for a 12 month period at The West
Australian. This is a mandatory requirement of the Gaming and Wagering Commission Act 1987.
