The public can vote for their favourite of the Top 5 Finalist entries on SECRETLIFEOFMYPET.COM.AU based on the official judging criteria. The winner of the major prize is the Top 5 Finalist with the most number of public votes on 23:59 AEST on Friday 9th September 2016.

Individuals can enter and submit multiple entries. However, the Promoter reserves the right to reject any entries that are seen as duplications, appear to be similar to a previous entry, or are seen to be manipulating the spirit of the competition. Each entry must be substantially unique.

Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry. Only entries which are submitted and comply with these conditions of entry may take part in this competition.
The promoter is Universal Pictures International Australasia Pty Ltd (A.C.N 122 951 099) of 1 Munn Street, Millers Point, NSW 2000.
Entry is open to all permanent residents of Australia except employees of the Universal Pictures International Australasia Pty Ltd, Network 7, Now We Collide, its agents and the immediate family of those employees. Entrants must be over 15 years of age to enter.
The competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner.

How To Enter (Phase 1)

All entries must be received by 23:59 AEST on Thursday 1st September 2016. No entries will be accepted after the close date. Entries must be correct, complete and comprehensible. Entries become the property of the promoter and will not be returned.
It must be clear from the entry that the pets were not harmed or distressed in the creation of the entries.
By entering you are warranting that you have all necessary rights in the content of your entry and that your posting/uploading of that content, and the uses contemplated by the Competition will not violate, misappropriate or infringe on the rights of any third party.
Individuals can enter and submit multiple entries. However, the Promoter reserves the right to reject any entries that are seen as duplicating the same or similar multiple times within this competition, or manipulating the spirit of the competition. Each entry must be substantially unique. In the event that multiple substantially similar entries are identified, the judges may disqualify one (1) or more of those entries in their sole discretion and the judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition will be final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into.
Entrants agree that they are fully responsible for the content they submit. The Promoter shall not be liable in any way for such content to the full extent permitted by law. The Promoter may remove any content without notice for any reason whatsoever. The Promoter and/or its representatives may conduct security and/or verification checks in their absolute discretion to determine an entrant’s eligibility to enter the Promotion. Ineligible entries will be deemed to be invalid.

Judging (Phase 2)
The Top 5 entries will be selected by a panel of judges from Channel 7. The judges will determine the best entries based on the pet’s star quality as exhibited in their entry. The star quality can be either a special talent, a personality trait (such as being funny or mischievous), or a unique look (such as being stylish, weird or ultra-cute).
Top 5 finalists will be selected by a panel of judges at Channel 7 Studios in Sydney at 10:00 AEST on Friday 2nd September 2016.
The judges’ selection of the Top 5 Finalists is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the selection of the Top 5 Finalists.
The Top 5 entries will go to public voting (See below)

The public will be asked to vote based on the pet’s star quality as exhibited in their entry. The star quality can be either a special talent, a personality trait (such as being funny or mischievous), or a unique look (such as being stylish, weird or ultra-cute).
The winner of the major prize is the Top 5 Finalist with the most number of public votes on 23:59 AEST on Friday 9th September 2016.
At the Promoter’s discretion, the announcement and notification of the major prize winner may be made either:

If the major prize is not claimed by 18:00 AEST on Monday 19 September 2016 or the entry is deemed invalid for any reason, the major prize (and accompanying Top 5 Finalist prize pack) is forfeited and the Top 5 Finalist with the next highest number of votes shall be awarded the major prize. The forfeited Top 5 Finalist package will be awarded to the next entry selected by the judges based on the criteria set out above (the judges’ decision being final).
The Prizes
1 x MAJOR PRIZE:
There is one major prize (for the winner of the public vote) as follows: “Have your pet animated and included in The Secret Life of Pets 2”. (Valued at AU$130,000)
The winning pet will be animated and may appear in The Secret Life of Pets 2 (the ‘Production’). The duration of the winning pet’s animated appearance in the film is at the full discretion of Illumination Entertainment. Should the winning pet’s animation not make the final cut of the film, Illumination Entertainment will provide the winner with a bespoke illustration of their pet.
The winner (and, if applicable, their parent/guardian) must be prepared to sign further consents, assignments of rights and/or waivers in connection with their participation in the Production, as required by Illumination Entertainment and/or its parent, affiliates and production partners. Illumination Entertainment shall have absolute discretion over the content and its inclusion in the Production and Illumination Entertainment (or its affiliate or licensors as applicable) are under no obligation to broadcast, exhibit or otherwise exploit the part.

Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. Winner(s) cannot change, vary, substitute or extend any element of the prize (in whole or in part).
Prize values are based on recommended retail prices and/or costs and are correct at the date of printing terms and conditions (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any change in prize value between now and the ultimate date individual prizes are awarded.
In the event that for any reason whatsoever the major prize winner does not or is not able to take the major prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter for any reason, the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.
To claim their prize, prize winners may be required to provide supporting identification. If the winner is under the age of 15, a parent or guardian must accompany the winner when redeeming the prize. If the winner, for any reason, does not take any element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the winner forfeits the prize, with no compensation or further liability of the Promoter.
The Major Prize will be delivered at a time determined by Illumination Entertainment based on production timings of The Secret Life of Pets 2.
Top 5 Finalist Prizes may be delivered approximately 28 days from close of Phase 3 (Public Voting).
Other Terms and Conditions:
By entering the competition, all entrants agree to (a)_their content being used in the promotion of the Competition and (b) participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed, photographed and appear on Channel 7’s Sunrise program. The winners grant the promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
The winners agree that they will not and will ensure that their companions do not sell or otherwise make available their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation (other than as part of the official Competition publicity program).
The promoter and its associated agencies, are not liable for any loss, damage, personal injury or death whatsoever (including, but not limited to, any direct, indirect or consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with this competition, the use of a prize or any act or omission (whether negligent or not) of the promoter, its associated agencies or any person associated with any of them, except to the extent that any liability cannot be excluded by law.
If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which changes the result or prevents or hinders it's determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the promoter may in its discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.
