One of the biggest attractions of this year’s Dark Mofo in Tasmania, the bewitching House of Mirrors will be brought out blinking into the brilliant sunlight of Brisbane for its first outing since more than tens of thousands of festival-goers fell for its disorienting charms in the cold, dark Hobart winter.
The walk-through installation, a labyrinth of seemingly endless mirrors, will take pride of place as a central outdoors attraction at Brisbane Powerhouse’s debaucherous end-of-year carnival Wonderland, from November 18 to December 11 2016. Brisbane is the first city to nab House of Mirrors after its Hobart debut, before it goes to Sydney and Melbourne on a national tour and then sets sail overseas. Those who dare to enter are told to beware: there is only one way in. Getting out is an art.
