Win a double pass to see the opening concert of the ANAM 2017 season - Enigma, at South Melbourne Town Hall, Saturday 4 March.
The Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) opens their 2017 season with a concert on Saturday 4 March featuring four great orchestral works by four major English composers. Britten’s impassioned cry from the heart juxtaposes powerfully with Vaughan Williams’ and Ades’ fantasies on the music of two earlier masters before culminating in Elgar’s ever-popular Enigma Variations.
Leading the ANAM Orchestra will be Principal Conductor of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Nicholas Carter. Carter is the youngest conductor – and only the fourth Australian ever – to be appointed Principal Conductor of a major Australian orchestra so is the perfect fit to highlight ANAM’s young musicians.
