THE winner of Australia’s most prestigious literary prize, the Miles Franklin Award, will be announced in Melbourne on August 26.
Six books have been short-listed:
No More Boats, by Felicity Castagna (Giramondo Publishing);
The Life to Come, by Michelle de Kretser (Allen & Unwin);
The Last Garden, by Eva Hornung (Text Publishing);
Storyland, by Catherine McKinnon (HarperCollins Publishers);
Border Districts, by Gerald Murnane (Giramondo Publishing);
and Taboo, by Kim Scott (Picador Australia-Pan Macmillan Australia).
To celebrate, the trustee of the award, Perpetual, and the Copyright Agency, which supports the award, have three bundles of the short-listed books for Weekend readers to win. Each bundle is valued at RRP $176.
