After being forced to cancel last year’s festival less than two weeks before it was scheduled to begin, MICF is back to bring the laughs in 2021.
Earlier this year, the beloved comedy extravaganza revealed this year’s program, including a huge spread of big names, newcomers and staple events such as The Gala, Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow, The Great Debate, Upfront, The (Very) Big Laugh Out and Comedy Club for Kids.

Kicking off your night, The Comedy Zone brings together five of Australia’s rising stand-up stars for an hour of quality humour, coordinated and produced by the folks at Melbourne International Comedy Festival HQ. Not only are you scoring five tickets for the price of one (or in the winner’s case, none), expect to see for the most part a funny and diverse array of stand-up styles, unusual topics and naturally the occasional dirty joke.
Next, you’ll make your way to the stunning Forum Melbourne (seriously take it all in) for a Comedy Bonanza and Lip Sync Battle with The Festival Club, where the Festival’s biggest names line up and let loose! Essentially, it’s late-night comedy that’s unscripted, unhinged and possibly X-rated, followed by epic battles from the best lip-syncing comics in da biz, hosted by the incomparable Michelle Brasier.
