Heading out on the road these school holidays? The Hedland Community Road Safety Action Group are running the Revive on the Drive competition, encouraging local drivers to avoid fatigue by stopping at a WA Safe Stopping Place. To enter, simply follow these steps:

Find a WA Safe Stopping Place using the map
Take a photo at a WA Safe Stopping Place
Upload the photo to your Facebook page
Include the location, hashtag #ReviveOnTheDrive and tag the Town's Facebook page


The competition runs from 12:01am Saturday 8 January until 12:59pm Friday 14 January 2022. The winner photo entry will be drawn at random at 11am on Monday 10 January 2022 at 13 McGregor Street, Port Hedland, witnessed by a panel from the Town which consists of at least three people. Members of the public may attend to witness the prize draw.

*COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY (T&C)
General

1. The Revive on The Drive Prize Draw (‘Prize Draw’) is being run by the Town of Port Hedland, 13 McGregor Street, Port Hedland ('Town') (ABN 19 220 085 226) during the Promotional Period.

2. Only participants (‘Participants’) who have met the eligibility criteria will be eligible to win a prize (‘Prize’) in the draw (‘Prize Draw’) at the conclusion of the Promotional Period.

3. The Competition commences at 12:01am on 8th January 2022 and concludes at 12:59pm on 14th January 2022 (‘Promotional Period’).

4. Information on how to enter the Prize Draw and other details contained within promotional advertisements for this Prize Draw forms part of the T&C.

5. By entering the Prize Draw, Participants agree to abide by the T&C.

6. The Prize is not transferable.

7. The Prize Draw is a game of chance and the winning Prize Draw Participant (‘Winner’) will be drawn at random on Draw Date and will be contacted by the Town at the earliest practicable date.

8. The T&C of the Competition are governed by the laws of the State of Western Australia.

9. Entry to the Competition is free. Participants will be responsible for all costs associated with entering the Competition, which includes but not limited to the utilisation of the Prize.

Eligibility

10. The Prize Draw is only available to residents in relation to residential properties (‘’Property’) in the Port Hedland local government district (‘Participants’) – evidence of residency will be required upon collection of prize.

11. Participant must be over the age 18 years.

12. The Photo Entry must be an original photo of a Western Australian Safe Stopping Place as identified in the Main Roads Driving in Western Australia: A guide to safe stopping places (‘Safe Stopping Place’).

Criteria

13. To enter the Prize Draw, Participants must:

(a) Upload an original photo of a Safe Stopping Place to Facebook and tag the Town of Port Hedland in your photo (‘Photo Entry’).

(b) Each Photo Entry must include the name of the Safe Stopping Place and #reviveonthedrive to be considered a valid Photo Entry.

(c) The Photo Entry must be posted during the Promotional Period to enter the Competition.

(d) The Participant cannot be an employee of the Town, or a member of that employee’s immediate family[1]; and

(e) cannot be an employee of any agencies associated with this competition, or a member of that employee’s immediate family[2].

[1] Immediate family means parents, children, siblings, spouse or defacto partner residing at the same residential address as the employee.

Selection

14. The winning Photo Entry is drawn at random at 11am on 17th January 2022 (‘Draw Date’) at 13 McGregor Street, Port Hedland, witnessed by a panel from the Town which consists of at least three people. Members of the public may attend to witness the prize draw.

Prize

15. The Winner will be awarded a Prize.

16. The Winner will be drawn at random.

17. The Prize is a $100 fuel voucher (‘Prize’).

18. The Prize cannot be transferred or exchanged or redeemed for cash or alternative goods.

19. In the event of ineligibility of Prize, it is at the Town’s discretion to conduct a redraw of the forfeited Prize.

Collection

20. The Prize is to be collected by the Winner, along with proof of residency, at the Town’s Civic Centre Port Hedland during the operating business hours at 13 McGregor Street, Port Hedland.

Notification

21. The Winner will be publicly notified on Facebook within a week from Draw Date.

22. If the Winner fails to respond to the Facebook notification, meet the T&C and / or claim their Prize within thirty (30) days of notification, the Winner is assumed to have forfeited their Prize.

23. In the event of forfeiture of Prize, it is at the Town’s discretion to conduct a redraw of the forfeited Prize.

Publicity

24. The Participant grants the Town permission to publicly reference their name and / or photograph for publicity purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law.

25. Personal information provided for the purpose of entering in the Prize Draw will be collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with the relevant privacy laws.

Indemnification

26. By entering and participating in the Competition, the Participant agrees to hold harmless, defend and indemnify the Town from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), losses, consequential losses, costs or expenses, with respect to or arising out of or related to (i) participation in the Competition, or (ii) participation in any Prize related activities, acceptance of a Prize and/or use or misuse of a Prize (including, without limitation, any loss, property loss, damage, personal injury or death caused to any person(s).

Third Parties

27. By entering and participating, the Participant agrees to hold harmless, defend and indemnify third parties including but not limited to Facebook and / or Main Roads Western Australia from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), losses, costs or expenses, with respect to or arising out of or related to (i) participation in the Competition, or (ii) participation in any Prize related activities, acceptance of a Prize and/or use or misuse of a Prize (including, without limitation, any loss, property loss, damage, personal injury or death caused to any person(s).

28. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Main Roads Western Australia and / or other third parties.

Records

29. Records relating to this Competition will be maintained for a period of not less than twelve months from conclusion of Promotional Period and shall be made available to authorised officers upon request.

Variation

30.  In the event of any conflicting provisions, this T&C takes precedence over the advertised information.

Acceptance

31. This T&C was last updated on 7th January 2022 and will not be changed, modified, or otherwise altered while the Competition is ongoing. Entering and participating in the Prize Draw is a complete acceptance of the T&C.
